What Captain Personality matches with the Golden Codex choice?

Previously I had gone with Jerkass/Triumphant option because the art matched the GC Admiral outfit and because it gave an obvious reward (Treasure Hunting).

About the Apoc-style equipping:

In my recent experience I found that managing soldier inventory via the Base Soldier inventory to be buggy: Sometimes the changes do not save, sometimes they revert to what the soldiers had months ago, sometimes not recognizing that I have items on the "ground" in the first place unless I have them in excess.

Equipping soldiers via the Craft Inventory (in geoscape, not during battle start), on the other hand, so far has been bug-free for me and working as intended.

Not sure what is so different between the Inventory in Soldier Screen and the Inventory in the Craft Screen that leads to such different results.

I think you suffered a bad RNG on Ninja HQ placement.

In my current run, I placed my first base in North America and in the Ninja HQ dropped deep in North Africa.

But IMO, there should be a code that prevents the Ninja HQ from spawning in the theoretical max radar range of the first Hideout just to prevent cases like these.

The Hyper-Wave Decoder told that one of Guild Ships had a mission 'Guild Hideout'.

Does this means it creates a new Hideout, or merely supplies an existing one?

Scavenging and Treasure Hunting.....How?

If you buy a Recon expedition from the Black Market, you can debrief etc. But I have no idea how to use the Treasure Hunting or get the items needed to do the Scavenge: Antarctica etc.
Any tips?

For me, those unlocked by choosing the Jackass/Triumphant Captain option, and how it works AKAIK is that occasionally you will get a pop-up event (the frequency of which is dependent on the number of bases in the regions) showing a successful/failed treasure hunting.

On failure you get a minor Infamy hit.

On success you get an item in your first base to extract from via manufacturing.

Most of the time, it is crap like Scrap Metal and Chemicals.

But one time, I got THE SINISTER DEVICE OF DOOM from an Oceania scavenging, which is AFAIK is bad for a Golden Codex Captain if the disabled techs in Tech Tree Viewer is anything to go by.

Hello again! the N2 brings up the xcom: apocalypse equipment craft style, but i don't get it, please how does it work?

The simplest way to describe it is that the equipment is now tied more to the Hands/Soldiers than the craft itself.

For example, you equipped the Lunatic Uber via the Hands screen and then assigned her to an Airbus, and thus the items she carried will be automatically transferred over to the Airbus, and will be transferred out if she is unassigned.

The number/+numbers is stuff equipped on the Hands and stuff lying in the craft, respectively, and the former cannot be subtracted via the equipment screen, you need to directly remove the items from the Hand in question. Also, if those items are either fully equipped by the hands or fully lying in the craft, the separation will not be shown.

This what briefing screen warned you about (if you read briefing screens at all, of course): another hunter party arrived first. So what is the bug you were talking about? The number of hunters?

I thought that referred to the bystanders that occasionally spawned in these hunting missions?

Did not occur to me to have a save file on hand long after the fact, but here is a bug or merely an unforeseen if still legitimate outcome of a game feature:

A MegaScorpion hunt mission spawned, flied over to hunt them, and I see that they were replaced by Ratman Brigands.

Normally this is nothing unusual, missions occasionally feature a different enemy set than expected, most commonly the zombies.

But the two things that made this one funnily unusual is that they were a lot of them (AFAIK the game cannot re-adjust the numbers for the new enemy set, which can lead to some rather "interesting" scenarios) and that every single one of them had a MegaScorpion Sting/Tail in their inventories.

So now I'm imagining that a lot of angry wannabe rat ninjas were sloppily disguising themselves as scorps by tying the Stings on their backs, as they waited for the Piratez to arrive and to exact revenge on them for one Rodeo too many.

I had the same problem and then use the attached file from Iazo and it worked fine.

You have to replace the Research.rul in the city lore mod, not the main Piratez Research.rul

I don't think Piratez even has a separate Research.rul, it seemed to be baked into Piratez.rul.

Did anyone encounter the attached error when activating the mod

Download the research.rul file posted at the top of this page and replace/overwrite the one in Cities lore mod with it.

Hmm, i get the following error after the new upgrade:
[24-10-2022_19-55-40]   [ERROR]   During linking rulesets of research:
Error processing 'STR_DARK_TROOPER' in research: Unknown research 'STR_RIO_DE_JANEIRO'

I can find several references to STR_DARK_TROOPER in the piratez.rul file, but no clue how to fix this, anyone else see this error?

Not a dev, but can you elaborate a bit?

Does the crash occurs when you try to start the game, or does the game crashes during the run when you research the Dark Trooper and the game fails to give you a freebie Rio?

If the former, my own fresh-install works fine, if the latter I might have to abandon my current run and turn off the City Lore mod.

But if you really needed to do so, the OXCE engine should really support such "escort" functionality (multiple ships fly the same path and speed with simple clicks - or is there a feature to accomplish this easily?).

When launching ships, shift click the ships you want to act as escorts, then click normally the ship you want to be escorted.
