The Disconnected Future. Working Version.
« on: May 02, 2024, 06:57:50 pm »
Greetings to all. I have finally completed a working version of my Disconnected Future. That you can play from start to finish.

This is my personal Hybrid Mod. Tells a story when the world of the future where the Eurocorp Syndicate and reigned unchallenged until an unknown computer virus fractured UTOPIA, the A.I server that unite the Hexagon Chip that control every citizens from around the world.

This is a very challenging mod. It requires you to raid cities at the start with no man power and salvage the hell of what you find in those cities to build your armies to defend earth from the future Alien threat.

Have five episode arc. First is the scavenging building your way around, UFO, TFTD, APOC and Advent invasion. 5th Arch is open ended. No ending.. yet.

Don't expect the UFO and TFTD follows the vanilla story. It has been heavily modded to accommodate for this mod.

Special thanks to:

Meridian - For all his help over the years and feature that requires to make this mod happen.
Yankes- For his off the forum help with scripting.
Supsuper- For just tolerating me.
Xilmi- For his Brutal A.I and more than 8 bases feature.

Tips for playing this mod.

-Build close to a city, raid it. First time you don't succeed, try again. Each raid is different.

-Look for a specific building, that has specific loots.

-Research those loots.

-Raid Museums for plans. Banks for money.

-Watch out for turrets. Church of Nine Zealots, Mercenaries and Police.

-First base has to be on land, others can be on oceans once research is done.

-Don't attempt underwater mission asap. You need the infrastructure first before attempting.

-Capture Civillians and interrogate them for Soldiers, Scientist, Engineers or just ransom them for money.

I've decided to give this a quick shot, however I'm having issue's right from the beginning, primarily on one point. How do  you raid a city? I send a craft on over but I can only just waypoint on top of the city, not actually raid it.

You need to move your craft over a city, wait for a few hours game time. Then intercept with your craft like you intercept an alien base. In city raids you cannot defeat a base or city. You can only retreat with what you loot

Here is a guide to raid a city.

First select a city

In this case, the city is Buenos Aires

Then wait for a few hours, until the city pops up for selection

Here is a typical city while raiding mission is on. Highlighted are Barracks, Military base and Madam's Pub. Resources can be raid from Barracks are weapons in storage lockers, provide you defeat the guarding forces. Madam's Pub can capture mutants. So you can hire Mutants

Here are two resource building to raid.

The larger one is a wood mill. You can pick up raw wood from there.

The smaller building is a refinery. You can pick up raw material and refine metal from there.

This is a Sea city, which you can raid too. But in this case, is a Terror mission gone terribly wrong.

I've decided to try this. Reading the Ufopaedia, this is what I found so far.

New topic text and TWoTS Ufopaedia articles have bad colors.

Albatross' and Lysander's HWP capacity can't be read at 1920x1080 resolution, 4x scale.
Dolphin Electric's article says it has been in production for over 40 years since 1975. Since it is 2149 at the start of the game, it should say over 170 years.

Damage types 13 to 18 are unnamed

Grog Drink's effect should not be called "Healing" as it causes damage. "Stimulant" would be better.

Errant composite bracket "{" at the start of Combat Drugs Meds article.

Black Pill Meds refer to Mutant Gals. Is this related to XPiratez?

Vodka Drink's article refers to Kosmoportovaya Vodka

Many articles refer to some Madam. No idea who that is though.

Painkiller Meds have bad capitalization.

Cigar (and some other articles too) refers to Mutants. But there is no explanation as to who they are.

Cigarettes say the are named so because they can help achieve Nirvanna. But their name is not a reference to Buddhism.

Cocaine Meds also reference the Mutants.

Fun-Go Stimulant references the Mutants and the Reticulans.

Gold Bar looks like a bag of gold coins.

Silver Bar also looks like a bag of coins.

Brass Coins have the image of Alien Alloys. Probably not intended.

Machette article says it fires 9mm rounds.
So does Lead Pipe.

Civillian Hauler has the picture of a minitank. But the article says it is unarmed.

Crude Plastic Resin, Fertilizer, Raw Wood, Ephedra, Scopolamine, Barrel of Crude Oil, Gasoline and Wood should not look like Alien Alloys.

Jet Fuel article is empty.

First Mission:
STR_IMMORTALSTATUE has no good name and is invisible.
Crossbows and Bows keep saying "You take the point."

To Mathel, thanks for the bug report. Most of these issues are QQL things I have yet find the time to look into.  I don’t have much time to mod now days. Some of the stuff have a bit of ref to Piratez but the mechanics are very different as how the stims or drugs work. Madam is the queen or a mutant leader escape from Sydnedrion. She/they runs safe houses in cities that if you are able to capture them and recruit as soldiers serving you. Madam has potent pheromones that can enhance her underlings in combat via combat stat boost.  However they need to be paid in battlescape missions to fight under you.  No money means they rebel against you! The same goes for mercenaries. The money pouch slot in inventory will need coins or money, pending on the ranks of the mutants or mercenaries. The ranks says what money they need and money usually last ten turns before a fresh bag of coins is needed. Immortal statues is anchors in a city to prevent it from disappearing after a mission is done. It is a hack. The goal is to raid resources in a city. Should be invisible and cannot be harmed
