Offtopic / Re: TFTD theory: Was supposed to take place in WW2
« on: August 18, 2016, 10:19:57 pm »
Thinking about the crap weapons, jet harpoons, and clumsy heavy diving suits without any armour, it actually makes sense, that it was supposed to originally happen in WW2 era.

Apocalypse is actually based on Cold War. All the soldiers are wearing Soviet Russian style fur hats.

Work In Progress / Re: Mercenaries - Total Conversion
« on: August 12, 2014, 07:11:48 pm »
Don't drink and post? ;)

Lol :D, been mostly sober couple of years now.

People are living in the matrix. Happily playing their games, watching movies and tv. Getting drunk. Occasionally they see news about distant wars, but yeah, that does not affect my life and they are those evil terrorists again.

The thing is that it is all coming to us too. Millions, maybe even billions will die.

I challenge people to take some time and study who is pulling the strings behind the curtains. Who controls USA, the presidents have now been always the same puppets, since they assassinated Kennedy. You don't find the answers on the western main stream media. It is mostly controlled to keep the people in the matrix.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

We are now in this position or maybe even worse. Actually many of us are supporting these wars and the rest are playing their games and watching "tell lie vision". It must be the truth as it was on the tv.

Iraq - false evidence that Saddam had WMDs. In total chaos now just like they wanted. Did people want this?
Afghanistan - total chaos like they planned, for what? Osama hunt? Did people want this?
Arab spring - ooh spring time, that must be something good, let's bomb them. Chaos again in Libya and Egypt. Libya was one of the stablest and richest nations in Africa before this madness.
Syria Assad - lies and smear campaigns, supporting the rebels. It is now a hell on earth and it used to be quite stable before. Again they used people's emotions that the "evil" dictator must be killed.
Iran - constant propaganda that Iran is the most evil nation on earth. In reality Shias are underdogs even in the muslim world. Never attacked anybody.
Ukraine - chaos and mayhem. They supported Ukrainian nationalists with millions and now already got rid of them. False coup for the people and some puppet put in the control.
Russia - constant propaganda and smear campaigns that Putin is the new Hitler. At the same time the people behind the curtains have killed insane amounts of people with the wars and chaos they have started.

These are not just some random things that are happening. They are going for world domination. Absolute sick people, wolves dressed as sheep. "We bring you democracy, freedom, spring, civil rights and peace." Again:

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

In reality they bring people around the world totalitarian nightmare without freedom to decide for themselves.

May we get some screenshot, waiting these out ;) I'd also advice to use  equal terms mod alomg with some stuff from gifty's garage  8)

I was away some days. I realised that there is no time to do this.

We are being lead towards 3rd world war and nwo. It seems that pretty much everyone agrees on this on the alternate media scene.

All the wars and uprisings in middle-east, Ukraine, mass-immigration, controlled media. They don't make any sense, unless you see that something needs this world wide chaos.

Looks nice. Thanks for making.

Why you put them all in the same thread? I almost missed this, but noticed it on the mod site.

Open Feedback / Re: TFTD Damage or XCom damage?
« on: July 25, 2014, 10:41:36 pm »
I decided to choose vanilla 0-200% damage. I somehow like the idea that you can have hits that only cause small flesh wounds.

Though it might become quite silly if you hit sectoids 3 times and they only get flesh wounds. But that's what flesh wounds are. Silly :)

Programming / Re: New Feature: Infinite base sizes, POLL
« on: July 23, 2014, 10:52:59 pm »
Light and clean code :)

You people should try and write a simple tetris game. Then you should write that kind of option that allows infinite area and a way to scroll that area.

You don't really have to even write the game. Just read the tutorials how to make a tetris game. After that take a look on the Openxcom code. You can read the source files even with windows notepad.

I am not against this mod. It would fit very well some of my mod ideas. But I totally understand if the devs don't want to bloat the code more.

We can have it as it is. As a fork. Bon appetit :)

And well, nothing is stopping somebody to combine all these forks and make that huge new Openxcom branch that has it all in it. Nothing else than the thing that it would actually be huge amount of work.

It could be fun researching the mystical human artefacts, rifles and pistols. Or the different regions, polar, farm, cities etc... :)

Suggestions / Re: [SUGGESTION] PsyAmp direct line of sight setting
« on: July 23, 2014, 06:29:17 am »
Uh... There's the "UFO Extender psionic line of file" mod, bundled with the game.

I think that nerfed the alien psi attacks too? Which makes the game too easy.

Released Mods / Re: Real Vision Mod
« on: July 23, 2014, 05:51:55 am »
1.1 version now available.

It will fix the aliens nightvision. There was a bug that caused them to see your units from too far away because of the small glowing effect your soldiers have.

The soldier glow was slightly adjusted and also the darkness limit to see units.

This will make the night missions easier. If you enjoyed the difficulty of 1.0 version you don't have to update :)

Suggestions / Re: Civilians in transport should count as saved
« on: July 23, 2014, 03:54:43 am »
What's the point of attending a terror site, with prime function to save cilivians (and of course avoid large negative score), when one innocent bystander who has faith in Xcom to save them...cannot be saved in your own protective vehicle?

The point is to stop the alien terror. You don't go there to pick up people and being basically their taxi service.

I think bureaucracy and security orders would not allow this to happen. If there was some random civilian allowed in the Skyranger it would risk the whole X-com project. So your agents eliminated the civilian.

nope. Not even that worked.

BUT... SUCCESS!! Tried reinstalling the APK. And now it works again...

Ok, good to hear.

I put a warning on the mod's read me that it will not probably work on non-windows systems. Let's hope people will now read those installation instructions :)

hmmm... no, actually game crashed when starting battlescape even in a new game.

what about options.cfg? Any change on it?

It is then possible that it somehow corrupted your options. I don't know how that area works, but it happened to me once. It seemed that nothing was working, not the original game or my new modifications. I got it back to working when I clicked that "default options" on the game. It puts them back to default, but then you have to adjust all of them back to what you liked.

that's possible.

yesterday, when I installed it, Real Vision did not work but the game did not crash either and I played normal XCOM on it. Only today the game started crashing when entering battle scape.

is it possible to manually edit the save game files?

Yes. You need some editor like notepad. Notepad++ is thou recommended.

Check if the soldiers have that new nightvision stat on your save file. If they do have that, my suggestion is to remove every line on that save file that has nightvision on it. If you edit the file you must follow the YAML standard.

You should probably first try to start a new test game, and try if you can start battles there. If the new game works then you know if the problem is in the old save.
