Very cool! Maybe I will play it and see all the content added in 10 years!

Cool stuff, summoning is still missing until I can get my lazy ass to redo the dfhack scripts, but it's updated with visuals.

Play the way you want as long as you have a good time. My current campaign is at difficulty 1 and I reload a lot in the battlescape because I keep forgetting to double check TU costs or energy.

It does not help that the factions have been shy, I get a huch I was too focused on researching big guns. Now I'm interrogating minor factions to unlock missions I missed.

Hey there,

After many years I decided to give x-piratez a new start and boy this is hyper focus inducing.

I'm over a year and a half in the campaign, and now I'm at the Big Boss rank. According to the description, I need to make the guild and academy angry, but how do I do that ? Did I miss a research or do I just try to grasp transports until I get the right hostage ?

Always glad to hear that the accent is okay, it's particularly difficult to speak in English because there is a lot in common that is not quite the same. For example, I'm really struggling to say "grenade" because it's the same word in French.

What is really good about x-com that it allows you to "fail forward" as you may not complete the battlescape objective but still progress in the global strategy. That why even if we have some missions going badly, you can go on. That's why ironman feels right.

Quite frankly the only thing I did not like in TFTD was the copious amount of psy attacks from the aliens (and the obtuse research but that's because there is no clue anywhere in the game). I would guess going into the advanced options and activating "Psy requires line of sight" would make it a lot better. Otherwise, I appreciate that it tried to not make weapons and aliens all upgrades of each other and added variety to the approach to combat. The game looks a lot better than UFO Defense too.

That said, now I know the game inside out and I feel that there is little more for me to do. With the exception of mods like X-Piratez, I feel that I've seen it all now for both UFO and TFTD.

I did not research PWT and lost my only sonic tank. We will have to walk but I'll try to push forward since the level is linear and I do not have to be careful anymore.

IIRC Level 3 isn't even tedious. There's a bit of maziness and then you get to the main chamber.

T'leth level two ! We use DPLs, a lot of them, to take down this part. And I gotta say that the layout was draining. What a terrible place.

By the way, the MC'ing large units bug was fixed in OXC, you get full control of 2x2 units when you MC them so they don't reaction fire themselves.

Nice to know. Many units in TFTD cannot be MCed but  if a mod open up possibilities I'd love to know what a controlled Hallucinoid can do.

As long as you're dual-wielding DPLs, howabout putting a loaded one in the backpack, and then having a manservant carry 3 more loaded ones right behind you? That way you can toss them on the ground instead of reloading them.

I wonder if you should maybe arm your soldiers with a backup gauss rifle, good for any time you fight aquatoids or gill men?

Done and done, I found myself something appropriate.

Dual weilding DPLs is op, yup, hit them hard and twice! I want to see the whole map go kabooom

Putting something else like a shock launcher in the offhand would be better but let's get logic in our way.
