The problem stems from the recent update to secure hosting, and users with externally hosted avatar images. Measures have been taken to ensure that nobody is affected by this issue going forward, but a number of people will no doubt be stuck in a situation that they cannot fix.
If you are one of the unlucky few users that has been affected by this, there is hope! Simply let us know in the comments section below, or notify either NineX, Supsuper or myself on IRC and we’ll get it sorted out for you.

I think that the nightly’s are currently playable if you want to play TFTD, for a fan made project it got pretty far before slowing down like it has, most fan projects that i have seen normal never make it to 1.0, and I love the mod support that they added. Just play the game and don’t worry about when the next version will come out, there are no features that I want that aren’t already usable.
The latest nightly is the new version.
Play with the Area 51 mod or with Awesome Guns mods. Both are amazing.
I lean more toward Area 51. I think it’s feature complete and only a few things left before its completion.
