Wow! I just happened across this project, and first was like, “So… he’s just straight copying X-Com?” But then I read your mission statement, and now I’m all, “Oh! He’s just straight copying X-Com 😀 😀 :D”
I imagine it’s difficult to resist throwing in all sorts of new features you’ve no doubt dreamed up, so I admire your restraint and rationale for staying true to the original.
Just grabbed your source and will give ‘er a perusin’ 🙂

I don’t distribute the X-Com graphics with the project so it should be fine.
