Subject: X-COM Summary Report #2
Our investigation into the matter of recent paranormal activity has given us solid proof that the "cults" are related to some kind of an extraterrestrial force which actively supports these organisations. The same extraterrestrial force seems to be behind unusual biological phenomena encountered on Earth that we were able to examine in detail. We are not yet aware of the aliens' objectives or modus operandi, but their activity appears to be coordinated and global. Considering that this activity seems to promote disorder and danger to human life, we are suggesting that the aliens should be regarded as hostile to humanity for the time being, and that greater means are necessary to gather more information regarding this threat.

Subject: Operation: Golden Death After Action Report
X-COM agents were able to locate Black Lotus HQ 20 km northwest of the city of Kitakami just to the east of Mt. Kuromori and were able to destroy the base after securing the entrance outside the building. X-COM forces also managed to secure the psionic amplifier mentioned in an earlier report. At this time, it is being shipped to EASTCOM for study. It should be noted, however, that while we managed to capture three suspects alive, two of our scout drones and Agents Carvahlo, Landa and Ljoekelsoey were all killed, while the sole survivor, Agent Berhanu, has taken near-fatal injuries. He will return to combat duty in two weeks. With the success of this operation, however, we believe that we've managed to cripple Black Lotus to the point that they could become...disorganised. It is safe to say that Black Lotus at this point is leaderless and we hope it remains that way.

Black Lotus HQ Destroyed, Japanese Government Confirms
Several fires in the near Mount Kuromori have been confirmed by the Japanese government to be what is left of Black Lotus HQ earlier today, claiming that the organisation is now "crippled beyond repair" and that the organisation's leaders have been killed in bitter corridor by corridor fighting. Three Special Assault Team officers were killed in the brutal engagement, and two experimental drones were also destroyed, with one officer still being in critical condition at this time. As a result, Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto has proclaimed victory over the Black Lotus terrorist group, though it is possible that actions could still be taken to wipe out the now-disorganised remnants of the terrorist group that a more than a year ago, had terrorised the world. We will continue to update you as this story unfolds.
