Your voice is fine luke, very easy to understand. :) Only problem is you should clean up the background noise with an audio editor next time.

Biggest problem i have is all the Mod tools are Windows based and  i have not had much luck getting WINE to handle them :P
Since the programs are .NET-based, have you tried using Mono instead?

+1 on Luke becoming the official voice of all OXC video presentations from now on.

You're too good at this to let your skill rot.

i use Audacity for audio editing. It's pretty good, but I don't know if it works on video files.

Audacity is what I use, it's free, cross-platform, and has plenty of helpful guides: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Noise_Removal
It only works with audio files though, so you would have to record your mic and screen separately and combine them afterwards. I can post my video process later if you think it'll help.

Mono is a cross-platform .NET Framework, it (usually) lets you run .NET programs on any platform, even if they're EXEs, so it might help you out with MapEdit.

I think slightly better mic and/or audiocard will do this job much better than any audio editor. Cleaning noise after recording is not very good idea, since there still will be some (and quite a lot, if my hear it right) audible artifacts.

Better Mic and Audio card are not really options because financial stress :P

Ok , i will try out Audacity and MONO , thanks for the help ;)

You could use VirtualDub (it's free) to combine and synchronize your audio and video streams (among the other things it can do).

@michal: That would be a good idea. And from Luke's impressive presentation, it's a worthy initiative

Haha , my current Mic only cost me  $10 ( about the same price as a large mcdonalds meal), lets see how the Audio editor works first on cleaning things up. If we get to a point where i need to add a audio card i will save up for a new PC first and get one put in , i am estimating this to be the last year of this one before something explodes ;)

Recording the video seperate to the sound is no big problem , i lost 80% of the sound that went with that last video so i just talked into the Mic whilst watching it.

Anyone knows what's the prices of good mics?

I've found that:

https://www.amazon.com/Pyle-Pro-PDMIC58-Professional-Handheld-Microphone/dp/B003GEBGA0/ref=pd_cp_MI_0

Costs, $12.88 - so i guess 20$ - 30$ should be enough for good mic? Or not?
