The cultist was taken down by a team of agents including oswald Rayner from the SIS, the Prince Felix Ioussoupov, the Great Duke Dimitri Pavlovich, lieutenant Sergueï Soukhotine, and the doctor Stanislas Lazovert a covert SIS collaborator The plan doesn't go as intended. After resisting huge amounts of poison, Rasputin was shot down then rose again, trying to strangle Ioussoupov. A complete beating and for more security a drowning in the Neva was decided. When the corpse was found we tried to burn the corpse but it was heat resistant. Two preoccupations remain: Rasputin adepts drank the Neva waters possibly contaminating themselves and the rumor that the body was fireproof and that only the coffin burned leaked. The body is still under our guard in a secret Area. The threat of his adepts wanting to recover it shouldn't be underestimated.

It's something, but it's not exactly related to X-Com. There's not enough reason for X-Com to be interested in this. There is no concrete information about Rasputin's allegiance ("cultist" is not informative enough), and how it ties to the X-Com Files setting.
