Hi, I would like to ask about tech tree.

I have Gauss pistol for long time (maybe 9 months in game) and now is comming Carcharodon/Tasoth and this is hell (5-7 shoots to kill). So what I need to gauss rifle or sonic weapons?

From what I can remember of the research tree, you should be able to research the gauss rifle right after the pistol and the clip. It's possible you are not playing on the right version of XCOM...? I don't remember having this problem myself, I had gauss rifles in time to fight the Carches and Tasoths.

Sometimes updating fixes things.

Spoiler Answer:
It seems you need to finish the entire gauss tree and research gillman/aquatoid corpses to unlock zrbite and gauss defenses. Once you have those you should unlock sonic tech.

Tryed the mod with the openxcom_git_master_2017_11_09_0437 nightly and encountered the clipsize -1 bug which this time prevents the mod to start. Hopefully, the fix provided by Nord shold work with it, i don't have tested it.

Thank you for help - I enabled mod "gauss weapons without ammo".
Now I turn OFF this mod and I see gauss pistol clip in research .....

First time I used Gauss Blaster, and there is something wrong - see in picture (soldiers are not visible , only weapon).

From the looks of it i suspect something is wrong with the weapons image pixel corresponding to the assumed alpha channel.
The black pixels do not correspond to index 1 of the 8-bit graphics (counting from 1).

The sprites are wrong:
1. the palette is slightly wrong (for example index 255 is "white")
2. the color index used for background transparency is wrong... it should be index 0, but currently index 254 is used (see attached)

After the sprites are fixed, and respect openxcom palettes, it will work fine.
