The X-Com Files / That was Epic

 I have been playing 2.5 since it first released and just finished today. I have to say that game was absolutely Epic. I did cheat a bit to get through on Genius level but not too much. I killed over 14000 enemies and captured 2100, encountered 5300 UFOs and shot down something like 4000 of them by games end in a campaign lasting 7 years.
 I am going to download 2.7 now and start a new campaign but on an easier level with a no cheat rule.
 Thank you for this excellent game, its an absolute Blast!!!

Thats fair. But if ever you feel like adding the clinic missions back in as stand alone missions I woul be very happy.I miss those misssions

I dont think so. i am pretty sure it is a one off. You can wait to get the Avenger but that requires some pretty high level prerequisites. It is still possible to do it with just a crew of eight from the Lightning but you will need your top guys on the job

When I played it the firing was coming from Plasma cannons mounted on the station. There are many levels on the station so use the height keys to scan up and down its surface. Also floater legionnaires come out of doors on the station and there are quite a lot of them. to kill these i send a Hovertank close to get them to fire and then use my lighter armoured top marksmen to kill the cannons and the floaters from an overwatch position. then go through the doors and get to the yellow area with all your troops to get to the next level.
 Also use the Kitsune craft instead of a Lightning as you can get more troops  and a hovertank  in it .
  I completed both levels of the mission without suffering a fatality so I hope this advice helps. Good Luck

Is there a way I can put Advent back in(just for myself really) or have all the files been altered to remove them completely as opposed to just firing
 Edit. I have checked the file ' Alien Missions' in ruleset and the Advent Clinics are still there. how do I get the missions to fire?

 Its now june 2001 and Advent havent appeared yet. I am getting lots of UFOs per day but hardly any Hybrid missions per month. Have I missed something?

I have a problem making an AI unit from the Alenium Shard. Its November 2000 and I have just got laser tank research so i decided to make my AI units but when I go to the workshop to build them the Start Production button is missing even though i have an Alenium shard available and it shows the AI Unit as available in the production list. I checked an earlier save game in june 2000 and i can produce AI Units no problem.
 Any Ideas? Please dont say start again from the previous save as i played for days to get from June to November.

Just finished my first ever campaign and its taken almost a year (I started it in December last year), Version 1.12 I think. No issues all the way through and then it crashes on the last mission and wont go further. I have to laugh or I would cry but I have to admit I had a blast playing the game and I was going to win anyway so no biggie, I just thought I would report it.  I am just about to start  a new campaign on 1.5.

Well i eventually Got the mission but I had to cheat to do it by going into the missions file and taking out the requirement for an Ethereal commander. I thought I had researched one already but as soon as I took it out I got the mission the following month

I believe so as it says deployed(I have actually launched it twice). I have researched Martian solution but maybe not an Ethereal commander. I will try to capture another one and see how it goes. many thanks Solarius

I have launched the Lunar module and its status is deployed. But it is ages since i launched it and I was wondering how long it takes on average to find the Alien base. I am completing lots of missions while I am waiting but basically I am now primed for the final mission .

Here is an update.
 I am now coming to the end of my first game, it has been a great experience and has taken three months of playing to get here. A measure of how good this mod is, is the fact that I recently bought a very powerful new computer and a very good VR headset but I am hardly using the VR and spend the vast majority of my time playing this mod lol. For this reason I decided to donate on patreon because you deserve it.
 I have great experience modding games in the past(Rome total war and many others) so I know how much work it takes to create a mod of this size.  I even hope to begin modding this game  soon and maybe submit some work to you that you might include.
