Different artistic visions I suppose. It's fine, no harm done.

I lessened the saturation on my weapon sprites. They maybe be more suitable for the Piratez mod now.

Hey, I got some weapon sprites for people to use here. Use them as they are, recolor them, use parts of them for other guns, do whatever you want with them! Just provide credit if you do use them.

These were originally created for Solarius Scorch's Gauss Weapons mod, as the second tier railguns, but in your hands they can be anything!

Heavy and heavy clip
Sniper and sniper clip
Rifle and rifle clip
Pistol and pistol clip

I may use this thread to post any other sprites I make, should the mood strike me.

SO! Solarius Scorch and I have just worked out the issues. I was somehow missing folders and files after transferring things over, I have no idea how, but I screwed it up!

Anyways, It's fixed now with a fresh download of the OXC nightly and FMP 1.5.1 and everything in it's proper place

And that's some really troubling info. I haven't heard any complaints regarding FMP installation for ages. What exactly is wrong?

I'm really not sure, I mean I unzipped FMP, put it into the mods folder where the save files are and then enabled it in OXC mod options and the game played just like vanilla. I'm going to delete OXC entirely as well as all my settings and attempt to reinstall.

-I'm assuming it goes like this
-install OXC
-download the latest nightly and apply it
-drop original XCOM files into the UFO folder
-run the game
-put mods into the mod folder,
-enable them in OXC

EDIT: I'm clearly doing something wrong. When I run OXC it's telling me "ERROR: TERRAIN/BLANKS/TAB not found"
This is after I placed the original XCOM resources into the  folder UFO

I was thinking I could simply lower the color saturation on the guns as a simple fix. If I did that would you think that is sufficient?

EDIT: I tried to test out the new less colorful sprites, but I couldn't get FMP to work with the new OXC despite having put it in the mod folder and enabling it in options. I'm tired of trying to get it to work.

Here's an idea of how it looks, anyway.

Well at least I know now.

I'm wondering what it is that makes them look to cartoony? Is it the colour scheme? Is it the overall design?

And since you like the old ones better I may put some work into them to make them look a bit more polished, if I can make time.

I feel a little selfish in asking, but...

I was wondering when you would be adding in my new railgun sprites, as I put a lot of love into them and I'm quite proud of them. But if you if you like the old ones better, maybe I could try to spruce them up for you? It's just they look rough to me and it's a bit embarrassing.

Or possibly the old and new ones could be used for two different weapon types?

Yo, I made some sprites for the gauss weapons mod But they're currently not implemented. These were gonna be the 2nd tier rail guns, but you can use them for whatever. I just want someone to make use of them as I'm proud of their design, and your Piratez mod is awesome. You can chop em up, reskin them, or use parts of them for whatever other weapons you wanna have/make.

(Also if there's something wrong with them let me know and I'll try to make time to fix it)

Work In Progress / Re: "Skill Applied" for Firearms? (Damage modifier)

To follow suit with making crazy suggestions. I'd like to see bare handed attacks, as well as being able to push enemies around either by pushing them yourself or with explosives, or throwing weapons/corpses at enemies to damage them.
I, however can already see in my head how many headaches trying to get that to work would cause.

I've been working for the last few days on a new set of railgun sprites, and I'm finally satisfied with the results. They come complete with inventory, hand, and ground sprites. These were made with the intention of use in Solarius' Gauss Weaponry mod. However, feel free to use them for any and all other mods as you so wish. Use them, alter them, use parts of them in other weapons or as a template. It's all good. Credit would be nice though.

(Also if there's something wrong with them let me know and I'll try to make time to fix it)

I think endgame Gauss would be great! They're probably my favorite weapon type, and I still use them stubbornly into late game even when they become less effective

Perhaps to make them more interesting than just having bigger damage numbers you could add more utility to them such as more ammunition types? Or possibly universal clips?
