OpenXcom not installing on Android?

It's been quite a while since I posted here! I hope this question isn't posted elsewhere, cause i didn't find it anywhere.

I tried to install the latest apk i could find and it's not installing on my phone for some reason?
I wanted to try and get XPiratez running on my phone for my long commutes.

Regardless, I hope everyone is doing well!

[EDIT: Disabling Google Play Protect is what allowed me to install properly, for anyone coming here for answers]

Thanks for the response! I had no doubts it actually works. I just have no idea why my phone won't let it install.
I'll try to give as much information as I can

I'm also using a Galaxy Note 9, with Android version 10
so, i'll go to install it and then it'll tell me it's unsafe.
I tell it to install anyways, and then it just says "app not installed"
I go to try again, it says its unsafe, i install anyways, and the progress bar for installing never fills. it just stays there

I'm trying to add screenshots and I can't seem to figure out how to add them to the post.

Also, i installed OXCE on my tablet just fine and once I get the original files moved over I can figure out how to get XPiratez working.
It's just it would be nice if I could get it installed on my phone too because that actually fits in my pocket

Just posting to say that it works on my android tablet just fine. Including XPiratez.
It's just my phone giving me issues for some reason.

It may help to disable Play Protect in Google Play settings if it is enabled. For unknown reasons, Play Protect prevents many third-party apps from being installed. It used to be enough to click “Install anyway”, but now it stopped working. As long as the protection is working, it won't allow installation of anything that seems suspicious to it. Once the app is installed, the protection can be turned back on.
But it's possible that the cause is something else.
