[UFO] [TFTD] PSX Music, SFX and Cinematics
« on: February 24, 2018, 09:35:13 pm »
These are the mods I previously uploaded on the mod portal. Since using it is discouraged now, I'm uploading them here for posterity.

These were extracted and recoded from the original PlayStation versions of UFO Defense and Terror from the Deep. They are quite large so I've uploaded them to MEGA so they fit.

* TFTD cinematics tends to be buggy, probably due to the weird resolution they have. They are the same as the PC version ones, but contain weird bars on top and bottom, so you're probably not missing much.

Hi can you explain to me where to copy the rullset folder or its contents? The music works, but I can't do well with the audio in the rullset folder

You just need to unpack archives into "mods" folder and enable these mods in  the game.
"mods" folder can be found in your documents folder: \Documents\OpenXcom\mods. Place files from an archive there, just unpack archives in this folder, so you'll have PSXMusic, PSXSFX, PSXVideos (if we talk about ufo:eu). Then start the game and press "mods" button in the menu. Locate PSX sound mods in the list (at the bottom) and enable these mods clicking on them.
Also, you can read README.md in game folder for more info about folder locations.

After downloading the soundtrack, I noticed that the Terror from the Deep large tracks, such as the Geoscape/Battlescape/USO Combat tracks were not the original length, most would cut off well before the midpoint.

I also altered a sound made when you picked any option which I found infuriating to be the same as the regular option select sound. It's in a seperate folder within.

I have the files arranged in Dropbox, however I am unable to post links as a new user. Do I need to email the OP to update their description, or is there a different procedure for this?

You can start posting links after your first post.
(or maybe after the 2nd, not sure)

Here we go again then, it appears I can post as normal now!

The files are in the dropbox link below.
