1. Yes, that'd be good. Default armor is always for free anyway, so I can't see any problems.

2. It should work just like when you don't have enough armor sets and try to equip by r-clicking (ignore command).

3. Yes, it would just look cleaner that way.

1. Done
2. Done... but please test. It was too much work to remove STR_NONE_UC from all rulesets, so I didn't test it.
3. This can be done without code changes actually, just change translation from this:
STR_ARMOR_: "ARMOR> {0}"
to this:
STR_ARMOR_: "{0}"

Download later in the evening.

Hi Yankes,

I managed to compile and run OXCE+ on Kubuntu successfully... using the guide on UFOpaedia.org.

Can you tell me/share how to compile a Windows executable under Linux with everything inside as you do it?
If possible, an idiot-proof guide... I am a bit of a Linux n00b. And by a bit I mean I am a frikkin' amateur.

Cheers,
Meridian

one word: `Makefile.mxe` this is make file I used for compiling exe. It require too components, yaml and mxe build chain.
To work properly it need one folder with `openxcom`, `yaml-cpp` and `mxe`.

I add some scripts that I prepared for "one-click deployment" (in case of Linux this is one script :D). You need fix paths and branches in it but overall structure should work for you too.

Not a stupid question IMO, but I'm biased as I asked the same thing not to long ago, haha. Here is the response I got. There is some more explanation in the thread this quote comes from as well (plus obviously a ton more info in the thread we're in now).

OXCE is Yankes' OpenXcom Extended version.  It opens up alot of features and customization for modders.
OXCE+ is Meridian's Branch of the above, that he coded for use with PirateZ, but it can run without PirateZ, though other mods may not take advantage of its capabilities.  You can download it from the first post here: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,4187.0.html

As far as downloading the latest version of OXCE:

Current working branch:
https://github.com/Yankes/OpenXcom/tree/OpenXcomExtended

Download available on mod site (require latest nightly):
https://www.openxcom.com/mod/openxcom-extended

Backup:

There is no download with all data files available at the moment, only EXE file.
I will prepare a full download later today.

As for the changes between OXCE and OXCE+, the full changelog is here: https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php/topic,4187.0.html

Most of them, since it's a few months behind. But the only still missing relevant thing I can think of right now is Soldier Diaries.

How about all data files with EXE ? And does it so difficult to place it (EXE + data files) together?

I deliberately do not add data because my exe was drop in replacement of original exe. You download updated nightly and my exe and every thing woks fine.
Right now because I focus on some complex elements I don't have time to keep with nightlys. When I finish this I will try back to weekly releases that are compatible with master branch. And problem of lack of data with exe will be again not important, but if you still need this data I always add it to first post in this thread.

Replace original OpenXCom font.dat by font.dat from data29.zip, game runs (OpenXcom Extended).
OpenXcom crashed.

The executable is simply not compatible with the data files from the latest nightly... because it is not based on the latest nightly, but on an older version (couple of months old).
You need different data files.

For me there is only one problem - font.dat
