Hello. Since there hasn't been any progress with this translation, I wonder if I could take this one for myself, or at least give you a hand with it. I have an actual degree in Translation, so I believe I could be fairly useful.

Actually I do have an almost complete translation done, mostly missing lengthy text like UFOpedia entries and mission descriptions. But if you wanna help finish and review it, be my guest.

P.S. I know it doesn't follow the "novo acordo ortográfico" but I can't stand the thing.

Just took a quick look at it. I feel some parts need to be rewritten as they follow the english too closely. Could you show up in IRC so we can discuss this in more detail?

I think Hythlodaeus is waiting on the next version of OpenXcom so he can probably test out all the strings in-game.

Yes I am. Other than that, most stuff is already done and just needs to be ironed out.

Here's the latest version of my translation. Thank you so much SupSuper and Warboy for putting up with my complaints and requests for adding new strings and enlarging text boxes. Hopefully none of these were made in vain, as they will surely help future translators to deal with text fitting problems more easily.
