Mr Narical, I was trying to find an indepth description of your new contribution but I haven't found one.  Is it in another forum?


I believe two options are added:
One in OXCE called "Uniform Shooting Spread" : Spread is uniform in all directions and more tight.  Overall chances to hit are the same.

then in BOXCE under battlescape but not connected to the RA tree we have
"Shooting spread mode"  > 0 "origional game"  "Uniform" same chance to hit.   and uniform tight (increased chance to hit)

Are these Connected?  Do both need to be enabled for them to work?

Would having OXCE on enable and then the BOXCE one set to unform make no difference?  what if it was set to OG or Tight?
I am excited about your contribution but am a little confused

Do you plan on producing a video showing the different options and how they affect a guy firing a machine gun at a stationary object like before?

Wait for new version please, I f***ed up due to my wrong git understanding, and Xilmi merged broken code. And since then I was too busy in RL to clean the mess.

ALSO: any future plans to bring that 2 tile safety feature for explosives or maybe the window features back as a non RA feature?   I swear to god i just shot a rocket at my feet

Fix already in repo, if all's good we'll get new release soon.
So, "Shooting spread mode" in BOXCE is almost the same as "Uniform Shooting Spread" in OXCE. It just moved from OXCE settings to BOXCE, closer to RA.
It works only with vanilla accuracy, RA ignores it entirely.
Modes:
  • 0> Absolutely vanilla - 30% of shots in a cone along NE (top-right) side of the map are more accurate and give less spread
  • 1> Spread have round shape and same size for each direction. NW shots become more accurate, NE become less. Spread angle is more consistent for all directions, without extreme off-target angles - it's still close to vanilla
  • 2> Accuracy and spread for those precise 30% shots in vanilla now used for all 100% shots - it feels similar to Realistic Accuracy with "realistic" spread option - spread is low and predictable, chances to hit are increased

Features from RA could not be implemented, as accuracy algorithm in vanilla doesn't care where the shot goes. RA works in the opposite way, so I could simulate any shot with needed parameters - spread, distance, target type it should hit etc. It's quite a bunch of code, but what's more important - it's incompatible with vanilla accuracy in principle.

Ok I THINK I understand... 
Getting both Off Center Shooting and Tighter Cone into OXCE is very exciting for me.
It has bugged me since 1994 that I cant use my landing gear as cover and Off Center Shooting completely fixed that, I cant imagine playing without it.

I sent you a message with clips of your demonstration, I just wanted to be sure i understood your response.
If you find the time to answer me, it would be appreciated.  Thank you.  Very excited about your new Tighter Cone contribution.

RA was just too much complexity for me to handle, but getting some of the best parts of it into OXCE is huge!
