Released Mods / How do you install the final modpack?

I installed regular openxcom - not the extended version. I got the newest version of that. Then I got the newest version of the final modpack and put that in the mods folder. It doesn't show up as an option to play in the dropdown. I dunno what to do. I looked up the tutorial and I did what they did exactly. Maybe it's a version issue? If so what version do I use?

I tried to load this mod up but it doesn't show up as a mod option. I got openxcom 1.0 and put it in the mods folder and it doesn't show up.

I can't approach them because they destroy me. So I can't kill them and they keep spreading and I lose. And it sucks. It's a terrible game mechanic. I'm out.

The X-Com Files / Crazy Temple Mission

I fought it out with the temple dudes to get the golden statue and I lost two guys in the process. Then when most of the enemies are dead I start to move in to get some more ammo from my ship and i lose a guy to that alien electric zapper dude. Then I go into the temple looking for him and he zaps two of my guys on the way in from behind cover. I can't even see him. They die. So now I got three guys and I'm going and I pick up a pistol on the ground because I don't have a weapon for one of my guys. And then my dudes start losing their freaking shit! They can't handle it anymore and they drop their weapons and start running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Two more of my guys get zapped from nowhere. Then I run back out to my ship and he's there being a major fucking tool. I take out some hi-ex but before I can arm it my dude loses his shit again. And I keep ending the turn and I keep losing all my time units. And he's on the other side of the ship shooting at me but he keeps hitting the ship because a nerdface. So I give up on the hi-ex because I only get one turn of sanity every so often and you only get half your time units back. So I take out the pistol and when I finally regain my senses I pop out and take a shot and hit him right in the dome. The next shot misses. I'm out of time units standing out in the open. I figure shit, I'm dead. And then the mission ends because he passed out and I won. Rip to Fruitcake who had 93 kills and was finally killed by a fuckyoulaserbeam from nowhere :p

This just happened to me. I start getting hit by throwing knives from the air and I'm like WTF. I thought maybe if I ran toward where they came from I'd find the guy, but no. so I just ran everyone away and threw bombs at where I thought he was. Still didn't get him. Thankfully after receiving more knives in the face I found him and killed him. I had to be within like three tiles. It's nuts. He had a katana. It's insane he didn't kill anyone. I got really lucky. And there was just one of these dudes. I tried to capture him but surprise! he can't be hit in melee. I imagine he can but I swung like 10 times and missed them all. So I shot him in his big sexy booty with my shotgun.

I have this helicopter and it's got 4 gun mounts but I don't know how to get guns to put on it.

I'm not sure if they upgrade, but mine had tanks and every units except the most elite dude with the trench coat who is ridiculously tough.

Anyhow I took a mudranger and chanced it against them destroying it and attacked the manor that spawned near my base. I threw a bunch of smoke around everywhere so everything anywhere near me was in smoke. And I got shot a couples times but thankfully they didn't toss any grenades. I also tried to spread out my dudes so they wouldn't chuck grenades as much. And then I ran a spotter forward and found the clumps of enemies and threw hi-ex at them. I was killing about 7 dudes a turn with one guy throwing high ex. And then another pack would run in an die. And then some aliens with squirt guns ran in and died. It was insane. And my dog killed some maids :p I didn't lose any dudes and I destroyed the place. 1 guy got shot to shit and got taken down to about 1 health. He was a rookie on his first mission :p I blew up the tanks with dynamite as well. It's just crazy. Like you start right next to all the enemies and you have to slog it out. You're going to get shot, and blown up, period. This game is gonna give me ptsd :p

I thought, well what if I just wipe out the red dawn? So I researched their HQ, went to their HQ, and killed everyone and 3 tanks. I only lost 1 dude. It was easier than the manors! And the manors still stayed after the red dawn was destroyed! FML.

AND

One of the damn manor's is on top of my base so if I use any vehicles they get blown out of the sky and I lose everything. So I had to built another base nearby and ship everything to it! WTF. I wish I could pay them to leave me alone. Like here's 2 millions dollars, fuck off! :p

I have armor, and dragonflies, experienced soldiers, and blackops and uac weapons. And I can't do shit about these things. If you attack it you get blown up by like 5 grenades instantly. The one I'm trying to assault now has a tank in additional to all the other bullshit. My dragonflies are frequently getting blown out of the sky on the world map when I'm trying to do regular missions because I can't escape from their jets. It's just nuuuuuuuts. I can't do shit. It's game over :p

I do have the dependencies installed. It says 'there is 'no application installed for "shared library" files.' Should it just be starting up by double clicking on the icon?

It's got a shared library file called 'OpenXcomEx' but I dunno how to run that.

As per the error message, I tried adding game data in usr/share/openxcom/
then I guessed maybe it should be in the 'data' folder so I created that, and that didn't work either. usr/share/openxcom/data still didn't allow the game to find the installation.
