old xcom player, that thought i would give this variation a try,
its full of stuff i still have to figure out.
fourth attempt at a start up game,
so far i have figured that you have to interrogate everything in your path to get a good monthly score.

anyways,
couple new bases around the globe to get better radar coverage,, and africa got attacked by academy.

slaughtered my base,
took a direct hit from an rpg to the face, had two attack dogs at either legs, was set on fire for a while,
and had a rugby team scrum fight with 15 of my goons.
well.... she won.
whats the trick to knock her out ?

It sound you where using damage types that the provost is highly resistant too. The rpg would 20% reduction, dogs are 15%. That combined with between 80 frontal armor and only down to 60 at the rear is pretty hardy.

Use laser/plasma/warp type damage if you have it. Otherwise you need weapons with either armor damage or significant armor pen. Very strong melee is also an option to just overwhelm with sheer power.

i dont mind getting everybody killed,, its losing the base thats the problem, centrally placed on the map and takes ages to develop.
if im reading the chart correctly,, she is only 20% resistant to fire.

Other way around.  She's 100-20% resistant to fire so 80% (and immune to choking e.g.).  However, fire is one of those oddballs that generally ignores armor altogether other than resistances, so fire can still do damage to her.  Just not a lot, unless you've got a heavy flamer or something.

Hard to say what'd be effective without seeing your base, but most bases are going to have some battle axes lying around and at least those will do damage if you hit her backside.

my base is a bit odd,,
usually people put the hangers north,, i tend to drop them a tile,, and have barracks right at the top left,, so i can flank them from two sides,, not just a bunch of us  all going north.
