In search of X-COM: UFO Defense Wallpapers

Long story short, I couldn't find any good X-COM wallpapers... So I made my own (1920x1080) using the best high res pics and utilizing my keyboard's screen capping abilities too(just 2 pictures lol). Added a nice quote too :D Enjoy and spread it like a wildfire if you like it. Improving on it would be great! I added sources for anyone up to it ;)

Well i have been playing alot of Cannon Fodder lately via Dosbox so i started to build a Mash-Up Wallpaper , its only half done but you get the idea  ;)



 If anyone can make me a Cannon Fodder mod of xcom i will do all custom mapblocks for it, i just cant code it - If it helps i even have a story in mind ::)

I will try to get the units onto there for next week , i will see how i go. I am glad i am not the only one who still plays cannon fodder, it was fast, simply and a great way to KILL 20 mins when you dont want to get fully involved in a complex game, Best of all , It got bloody hard sometime :P

Maybe one day we will be able to find a programmer to work towards this alternate game , once i  have my wallpaper done i may post it in the modding section to try to drum up some support , at the very least i am sure one of the main programmers will tell us why it Wont work. If we could use all the same Map formats and sprite sets that has got to cut the work load down , plus at this zoom level the graphics look very good, it may get more people into this project ;)

Update: Just need to add more aliens now

Really cool. I like it thanks! You should add more lasers and fighting into it. When I was young, I used to draw up maps like your wallpaper and add stick figures fighting and creating chaos in every way possible :) They always ended up being a Where's Waldo Warzone. I love anything that has the Where's Waldo style.

Something i have been playing with since 54X shared a HD background, work in progress,  i have the original image in the middle and have expanded on all sides, i was just looking for a space background as a change my desktop but decided this works better.

Hey Luke, can I have that OpenXcom logo? I'd love it on every future X-COM wallpaper I make. So anyone that finds my wallpapers can learn about OXC.

Stretch the Screen , how big is your screen? i only have a 21inch so i think it looks ok, i would like to expand it some more.

Sure you can have the logo, i suggest you steal it from the  main Openxcom page like i did, just "save as" and its all yours ;D

Here is a newer version, not sure if i like it yet, i may stretch out the main dust cloud to cover corner to corner as it looks funny stopping short.

If anyone has a cool alien quotes that would fit in the X-COM setting, let me know. Thanks. I love adding neat quotes into many of my wallpapers.
