Mod Leaderboard? Suggestions

I am really amazed by how much game I have to play now. I know that most of the big mods are done by just a handful of people, but I bet there are still a few really good mods that I've neglected. Is there a good list of the most popular mods available? If not, could you give me some suggestions? What are your favorite mods? I noticed that a 40k one exists apparently. I've found the board sort of difficult to navigate. I'm also pretty new. So maybe this has all been asked a hundred times.
