Saved game location.
« on: October 27, 2017, 01:49:14 pm »
I'm trying to backup my saved game files so that I can move them to a different computer.

Are the files "*.asav", "*.sav" & "battle.cfg" found in ".../openxcom/xcom1/" all that needs to be preserved or are there additional files stored elsewhere that I should also backup?

That's all, you don't need anything else.
("battle.cfg" is not necessary btw. that's just settings for "New Battle" mode)

If you want to transfer also the configuration options, you might want to backup also "options.cfg" file, found one directory higher.

It could be in your interest to backup the whole "user" directory, that's what I usually do. It's a nice top-level thing to move and it contains everything you might want to back up, like saves and configs.

Thank you very much. ^_^

The file transfer was a complete success.
