Custom Music
« on: February 18, 2017, 06:22:40 pm »
I actually tried experimenting a little bit with replacing the some of the music in OXC, but for some reason when I start up the game it crashes right when it hits the main menu.

I converted the music files using Goldwave from MP3 to FLAC, renamed them so they game would use my files instead, and then dropped them in the SOUND folder under UFO. Could it be that I missed a few settings and formatted them the wrong way?

Edit: The soundtrack I'm replacing the default songs with is from C&C95

Maybe try .ogg? the .mp3 format isn't popular with OXC, and FLAC files are huge.

Not saying this will fix the issue, but everybody seems to use .ogg.

Thanks! Using OGG instead of FLAC seemed to do the trick. I'll make a note of this next time I mess with the music. ;D

just for clarity's sake, it's not so much that it's "unpopular" as it is "known to cause crashes".
SDL mixer doesn't seem to get along with MP3.

Sorry, that's exactly what I meant. Language issues. :P
