OpenMW is project similar to OpenXcom - they're making open source engine for Morrowind game. There site recently died from slashdot effect "Normally we get 10,000 page views a month, and because of slashdot we had 2,500 in one day."

OpenXcom stats for June: ~ 3500 visitors (2700 unique) and 6500 page views  (4700 unique)

I wonder what would happen if somebody would post OpenXcom on Slashdot ;)

in last 2 months we got indirect ddos from wykop.pl, about ~2000 req/s
i don't have this in piwik stats, cause requests was for screenshots only directed by other site.
Our server are protected by reverse proxy (squid actually) on top of apache.

I did register OpenXCom at freecode.com(formerly known as freshmeat).
If SupSuper or Daiky want to have admin rights there I can do that.

I posted it.
Indirectly it means it is also on slashdot, since there is a small sidebar on slashdot lising freecode projects.
But I do not think that many people look at that.
Lets see what happens.
