Alien Base information

How about some information about alien base, just alien race for example.

It's been discussed already. Basically the problem is, how do you get this sort of info?

There are two possibilities:
1) Hyper-Wave Decoder info on a ship that lands at the base.
2) Go to base, check the race, get out.

Both are really complicated, especially the second one - how do you automate this?

By patrolling area. Vanilla way makes no sense about finding enemy base anyway. How by patrolling area you can find underground alien base without alien's technology? They really don't even tried to hide a base? Why aliens don't care about humans UFO that scout the area or follows them?

Fair point. After all you also sometimes receive a message from your agents, reporting an alien base; this makes much more sense.
What I don't really get is how exactly it relates to the alien race in a particular base. Should this report always include this information?

If the point is that some players want to keep bases around for milk runs, and it gets confusing, the base names should be made modifiable. This way after first assault, player can rename "Snake nest" or  "Eggheads-1"

the base names should be made modifiable.
Now in latest OXC nightly you can do this.

OK, everything can be renamed - this is good, but how about Alien Base race information?
For example if alien base in radar zone of Hyperwave Decoder you can see which aliens on that base...

This might be too big a change since vanilla doesn't allow you to do this (which I will admit came as a surprise to me). I like not knowing though because it makes that first turn on a base assault mission more tense.

If you want to figure out what type of base it is, there are other ways of knowing anyway like sending a "scout" mission first or using a hyperwave decoder to see what race the UFOs landing there are.

Talking about milking, a anti-milking mod could be cool - as in, the aliens set shop elsewhere if you don't destroy the base.
