Time Units refunding perks

When the sequel to NuXcom was announced, it reignited the usual the Old vs New debates in the places I frequent, and one of the points the Pro-New crowd had is that the Time units system could not do the "Do an Action in a specific way = That Action is now free" thing, exemplified by the Sniper's original "In The Zone" perk, which allows to chain kill aliens with one sniper until he fails to kill an alien.

The idea of perks is not a new one here, but how about if the soldiers had perks that make it that when they kill aliens with specific weapons (lets say a Heavy Thermic Lance) in the specific places (for example Rear Armor), they get back a part or all of the Time Units they used to kill the aliens.

WH40K mod -> Blood For Blood God! -> TU, morale & Energy boost after each decapitation :) Might be a thing (weapon dependendent, in this case, Khornate Chainaxe - also might be a vampric weapon...) worth considering in Extended...

I'm not a fan of perks in X-Com, even heavily modded X-Com. It's not really in line with its combat system, since it is very complete as it is.

But for total conversions? Fuck yes. Piratez with perks! Also, Warhammer! Yay! :)

Perks? What for? Better make "perky" armors and weapons, and mix, match and change at hearts content (I've actually made a Khornate Chainaxe for Pirates, but it sadly cannot be defined to do things "onkill". Sacrificing a soldier forever to make him/her a perk-bearer? Such a waste, do not like.

So... Feature Wish for Yankes! For stuff to be definiable to happen On Hit, On Wound, On Damage, On Stun, On Kill (basically the same as for damage, plus the ability to dispense XP for specific skills and play a sound, play an animation), for both weapons (ammo) and armor. This could be used to chain kills with a bloodaxe, play a sound/animation when someone takes damage from your weapon, tie Hammers to Melee XP instead of Firing XP etc :)
