Reviving a stunned alien?
« on: September 25, 2013, 10:31:30 am »
I'm sure this feature was possible in the past.  At least it was in xcomutil.  Sometimes I don't want to just stun that alien, I want to take it apartn and I don't have an earth grenade handy.

Can we bring that ?back?

When standing over an stunned alien body you should be able to deliver a finishing shot... ^^

I don't know if a stimulant pack designed for the human body would revive an alien or kill it :)

What does xcom ufo-lore say about alien physiology? The aliens claim to have seeded earth in order to harvest us "now", which implies a certain physiological similarity, but I guess that is only true for the humanoid ones. Snakemen and chryssalids and celatids and silacoids, on the other hand, I don't think so.

But yes, targeting unconscious aliens with a medkit should be possible, just like shooting them or hitting them with melee weapons should be possible. I don't know about firearms... maybe pistols would work, but standing over an unconscious enemy and lowering your rifle to finish him/it sounds like something that takes a lot of time. Perhaps at double TU cost?

Extra stun damage to stop them getting up would be nice...

Yeah, that's tricky. XD

Snakemen are like a cross between snakes and humans...
Chrysalids are like a cross between crabs and humans? Possibly related to the Lobstermen from TFTD?

But yes, targeting unconscious aliens with a medkit should be possible, just like shooting them or hitting them with melee weapons should be possible. Well on the front lines it doesn't makes much sense lowering your rifle but behind it troopers could easily do so... ^^
As for TU's its easier then priming and throwing a grenade or high explosive...

I recall waking them up so I could shoot them in the original.

... the carefully thrown safety proxy which happens to be 2 tiles away from one of your best troops...

I used to do that, but then I found that you had to avoid their corpses like they were the plague (and, like the plague, would probably kill you) or else the proxy would go off. In the tight-knit corridors of a UFO, that's a rather awful idea for obvious reasons...

I always kept some distance away anyway. ^^
And particular dangerous alien get safety (alien) grenade instead. :P

Alien with no melee options just take away their weapons and grenades.
