Kind of stuck
« on: April 05, 2025, 09:21:54 pm »
Hey guys, I started my playthrough back in 2017 and i'm kind of stuck. I've updated with each mod and the save file and I would say i'm definitely late game. I have elite plasma weapons, still seraching for the best armor because theres a space mission that won't appear for a component of armor i'm missing and I'm still stuck holding dr.x protege and got unfufilled prophecy so I guess that routes done. I tried building the conquerer but after building two pieces of it it flatlined and I don't know what else to do. Captured all the big wigs and researched them fully.... i'm attaching my sav if anyone wants to look :)

Please and thank you any insight or direction would be helpful

Nick

Uff, a lot of things have changed since then, you should restart a new campaign at this point, you may be stuck for real, because the way the storylines and the research progresses has been changed.

Yeah, if your campaign is that old you'd be best off starting a new one. There's been a lot of content added over the years including major reworks to progression.

If you want to try continuing this one, I can give some advice about progressing. Getting to Mars and completing the game (at least on the path you have available) requires capturing and researching a Belter. They're found on Space Freighters, and since you have that mission unlocked one of them should be showing up eventually. The Belters are the topless Ubers you can find in the engine rooms near to where you start the mission. That gets you Space Survival and unlocks the Mars-capable craft (Zubrin and Conqueror). Then you can get to the final mission and win the game!

As for Dr. X, yes you are locked out of that whole path by playing on Cap'n Kidd difficulty (the lowest). It locks you out from the Wasteland Priestess and Sorceress events and all the tech that follows from them. Really, it locks you out from a lot of content, particularly everything involving the Red Mage, Shadowrealm explorations and all of the Voodoo stuff, so if you're going to replay I'd highly recommend playing on at least John Silver difficulty so you can see everything the game has to offer.

Thank you zombieguy, one fellow mentioned early being able to program in so I can see the space freighter mission, do you know how to make that mission spawn during the month?

I appreciate the helpful response :)

Sure thing, I've edited your uploaded save to add a space freighter mission to the queue and attached it below. It should appear within an in-game hour or so after loading. Since it's likely not a mission type you've seen before, I'll give a few pieces of advice about it:
1) Bring at least one way to cut through walls, such as a fusion torch or heavy chainsaw. The map is pretty winding at points, and you can save a good amount of time and bother by making new entrances to rooms when needed.
2) There are a lot of civilians aboard, and the top level has navigators and ship officers. All of these are vulnerable to choking damage and are better captured than dead, so knockout gas is pretty useful for these guys.
3) There are multiple power-armored bodyguards and blue-shielded security drones aboard. So make sure you have the tools to deal with them.

Good luck and have fun!

Thank you much, one question I always sorta wondered, when an enemy shows in its file (200%) Choking... does that mean it's REALLY weak to choking or resists choking alot (really resistant to choking).

TY!

The percentage is a damage multiplier, so 200% is 'takes double damage' and 50% is 'takes half damage'.

Thank you Juku

Zombieguy, funny story for you, you'll appreciate this. I've actually DONE this mission once... was really long and winding just as this is turning out to be... however, the time I did it, it was raided by zombies... what luck! So zombies would keep spawning and I eventually ran out of ammo but got em all down, that mission was TOUGH!

Those dang zombies can show up just about anywhere, can't they? They have a 10% chance of replacing the normal crew on space freighters, so unfortunately you just got particularly unlucky there. The Star Gods must be really slacking off on their pest control efforts.

The zombies have a 10% chance of replacing any crew, anywhere, on any landing or crash. Sometimes you land and the zombies already got to them first, such is life. It's much less common to be surprised by this now that every radar is Hyper: True, but it still happens.
Get into the habit of packing a few spare shotguns into whatever transports you use, specifically so you can bust out the shotguns when it's a surprise zombie mission.
