When you send a fighter (or any other craft capable of mounting a weapon) to attack another flying target, if that target is capable of detecting and attacking player craft it will immediately attempt to intercept the craft you just sent to attack it. When this happens you get a popup that pauses the geoscape.

The idea is to add an option to suppress these popups if the friendly craft that triggers the message is already ordered to attack that same target. It's redundant information because the player already expects this to happen.

I'd suggest an option to disable these popups altogether.

In XCF, there's bases that spawn swarms of 3-5 attackers.
There may be many such bases, but no real incentive to spend hour per base to destroy them.
Past certain technological level they can't do anything to you and these popups only serve as annoyment.

That's a good idea, maybe you could have multiple options depending on what the player wants such as:

1. A toggle to disable all intercept popups entirely.
2. An option to disable intercept popups if your craft is attacking a target.
3. An option to disable intercept popups if the enemy craft is slower than yours (in which case it will never intercept successfully unless your craft is grounded)

These should pare down the popup spam to only those that are relevant to the player. If they don't want them they can turn them off. If the optional rules are used popups will only appear for actual threats like enemy vehicles intercepting your dropship faster than they can run away.

This one sounds awesome.

This suggestion is getting a little complicated but I thought of one more useful case:

4. If a craft (with only pilots aboard) that has ground assault disabled is en route to a target that is subsequently shot down, that craft will return to base instead of flying to the location of the crash. This is most useful for cases when multiple craft are targeting the same UFO.

I upvote all of them, especially #2. Thanks.
