Alien missile strikes is garbage

Yeah this feature is garbage, how do I disable it because I am sick of my base randomly losing buildings and submarines to invisible things.  Also is there a way to keep the game from spawning terror missions every few days, I can't even figure out how to get alien stuff and the world is filling up with alien bases because I can't research fast enough.

This is mod issue, if difficulty is too big would be better to play on lower one (as your request is effective same thing) or ask modder for better balance.
Alterative ask other players for additives as could be more optimal way to avoid this problems.

Beside first pos show examples of rulesets that control this mechanic, you can reduce "potency" of attacks by reduce values of it.

I don't  see a setting for it on the options menu, also some of the options I can't edit for some reason.

The problem isn't 'difficulty' it is lack of interaction, there is no craft to shoot down or intercept, it's just randomly my sub pen gets deleted or my radars get deleted, I also can't figure out what to research to do things. I need a user manual for this mod or some such, I was really enjoying it until random parts of my base started blowing up.

I mean edit ruleset files that define every thing that mod do, or better create sub mod that override base mod.
Other wise only way to disable it is ask modder to remove or balace it better.

Don't you have Base Defenses, two/three minimum?

Also, don't know which mod you're using, but if it is anything like X-Pirates then those missiles are launched when certain UF/SOs complete their missions, and thus the missile strikes can be prevented by destroying those UF/SOs.

No I don't have any defenses, do they prevent this? It's something I don't remember in the original game, maybe it's a World Of Terrifying Silence only thing. I just need a setting to turn whatever it is off, I like how the settings can be changed but I didn't see any options for that.

In TWoTS, defenses have a chance of shooting down the bombers. You have reasonable chance of success if you build 3 torpedo defenses (about 90 % if I recall correctly). If you are not prepared, the bombing runs can be crippling because they usually come in waves (so once the bombing of a base starts, you likely will not have time to build defenses there before the next ones come). If I recall correctly, the bombing runs start in month 6 or so. So I've always tried to build at least two torpedo defenses by May the first year, and reasonably soon for newer bases.

This is one of the gotchas in the mod where you need a bit different strategy than in vanilla.

Thank you for this input, I was searching for what was going on and thought this was it, Google is not what it used to be when it comes to searching for stuff.  I don't have any way to detect or intercept these attacks it's just kinda scripted?   Not a fan of this idea but I'll see if I  can disable it somehow, it's completely ended my run since it is constantly destroying all my radars and sub pens and I can't do anything about it.
