Underwater City Mission
« on: April 21, 2023, 06:22:07 pm »
Basically, I have only one question - how do I provide illumination in the course of that mission? It is absolutely dark and I am not allowed to use any flashlights or flare grenades. The only light source is Coelacanth (underwater tank) but it cannot enter buildings.

Chemical flares, I guess? Or maybe Gas Cannon incendiaries.

An underwater flashlight would be nice, but the darkness is also kinda thematic.

Flares are not available for that mission. Will try Gas Cannon incendiaries. This darkness is not themathic, cause it is impossible to see anything and to fight.

Not Electro-Flares, Chemical Flares. These are the underwater equivalent, and thankfully no longer expire after a single mission.

Not seeing or fighting anything is very thematic for Cthulhu stuff. :D

What are chemical flares? Currently, I have access to regular flares, elerium flares and trace flares - all of them are unavailable for the mission. Also, gas cannon does not have incendiary rounds, though canister gun does. But it does not help, cause clip has 3 rounds and fire burns for 1 turn only. So, I keep skipping those missions.

Flares and Incendiary ammo in quantity, check this dude out. All this tells me is that you've not actually invested into basic underwater equipment research, and are now complaining that these unresearched things don't exist.

Yes, it was my mistake, cause those clips go in Manufacturing as XXXXXXX I (instead of in incendiary). Nevertheless, it does not change the fact the mission is not well-thought and almost impossible to complete given sanity loss.

There are sanity recovery drugs that can be taken underwater.

It's supposed to be a tough mission against agents of an eldritch horror in their own environment that your troops struggle in.

What else is "not well-thought"?

The guy in power armour who almost has to be meleed out of their suit, yeah, not a fan of that. But everything else seems pretty thematic and nothing you haven't fought before, just in quantity and in an unfriendly environment.
