Flare gun

I know that throwing that little flares that dont give much light is part of Xcom night battle nostalgia 
but Flare guns giving ability to change night into day with tons of light are known to people and used in warfare from at least I WW
it would be great to have this kind of "weapon" to be able to shoot flare on distance bigger than sdoldiers can throw-
I was using sometimes grenade launcher with incendiary ammo in similar way but real flare gun would be very cool
