As they have variable stats, it might be wise to set up some way to check max potential, possibly would be behind some otherwise dead end research.  After all, you might get the SuperUber* or you might get Miss Useless, and currently the only ways to tell are to use them until they stop getting better or datamine.

there is sorta something like it already in the optional stuff. I don't remember what it's called, but it adds tags to the gal's names based on certain stat thresholds. Probably wouldn't be to hard alter that to suit personal needs. Although it has not visual representation beyond the tags.

If it's what I'm thinking of, it only shows based on their current stats.  Though perhaps it could be adapted.

I've thought about this, I have a mod idea that would use variable max stats.  It's not very viable unless you have some way to eventually figure out the potential of your troops.
