This is OXC behavior.

Ask OXC devs, if you want this changed.

Uh, if you think these speeds are the same, you need to get your vision checked. The OG is significantly sped up (DOSBox?), while OXC is not, including all the doors. Just watch the yellow arrows.

Yeah, OG animation speed is CPU bound.
OXC speed simply matches what you would get with a early/mid 90's CPU.

Uh, if you think these speeds are the same, you need to get your vision checked.

if you say that, it means that you haven’t launched the original x-com for a long time, maybe several years.
beat the original game, just try, it's a good game. and after that play openxcom for a couple of hours.
anyone who played the original will see the difference in the speed of fire and doors.
in the original game you just DIDN'T KNOW they could be so slow.
and in OpenXcom all you have to do the whole game is just wait for this slow animation, which reminds you over and over again that you are not playing x-com, but someone’s fake.
in OXCE they always seem to stumble over doors

The OG is significantly sped up (DOSBox?), while OXC is not, including all the doors.

dosbox speed on gifs 50,000 cycles
the game lags even at 30,000 cycles on large ships, at 50,000 it’s already better and almost comfortable for normal playthrough

Just watch the yellow arrows.

if you want to compare the speed by arrows, then in OpenXcom the speed is 5600 cycles? (gif at the bottom of the message) try playing xcom in dosbox at 5600 cycles

If you are so unhappy with the dosbox and the original game (wat?), then the CE windows version has been added below, is it also incorrect? also incorrectly accelerated in your opinion?
look, in the CE version the doors also open quickly

like the icing on the cake at the very bottom, a comparison of shooting close to the wall of an airplane:
dosbox and CE are very similar in speed, but OXCE (with max fire speed in options) .... so see for yourself

Yeah, OG animation speed is CPU bound.
OXC speed simply matches what you would get with a early/mid 90's CPU.

System Requirements for xcom1:
386 - 7800 cycles
486 - 26800 cycles

just try shooting the near wall at 26800 cycles by yourself and see the speed

I have played the original for many years on my 486 dx2 66mhz 4mb ram (later 8mb ram).

It was so painfully slow... but I didn't care, because it was awesome.

If you have ever played the original, you wouldn't know it could be quick.
