One of them strolls nearby. Two shotgun shots solved it.

OK, switch to toy shotguns and clean up.

By the way, zombies do not cause close quarters combat, so are perfectly fine to shoot at point blanc.

Tutorial time:

How to cheat Ironman with style and gusto.
Did you notice that you did something extremely dumb this turn?
Like not pressing Shift when moving with the last 4 TUs to let somebody else carry this sleeping Fatty.

Step 1. Open your save with an ordinary text editor. gedit works fine, even though I am a follower of vi.
Step 2. Copy paste the whole text.
Step 3. Alt-tab to X-Com and Save and exit. Say yes whet it asks if you are sure.
Step 4. Alt-tab to your favorite text editor and either tell it not to reload the save with it's new state or simply Select all and paste on top of it.
Step 5. Save the save file.
Step 6. Load the save in X-com.

Congratulate yourself on cheating the system and do the same stupid error again, or even better, make a new one. MANDATORY

And after the whole procedure above I found out that handcuffs do not work on Fat Zombies.

And the outcome is ...

Without Kevlar that friendly fire incident could have been a killed agent. Remember kids stay out of the line between an X_COM agent and whatever else is on the map, and put on some armor just in case.

After putting the above picture I am greeted with a friendly picture.

EDIT: That *scientiosts* below was totally meant to be there, definitely not a typo.

Some completely unaffiliated, totally random guys with sexy gas mask, that we totally, I repeat totally, do not know nothing about, dropped some wrapped boxes with Land Survey signs around. They said that they are council salvagers and that they bring us gifts after each mission.

Huh, I always thought that the loot valuable artefacts (like wallets) just teleport in our stores.

But this time they saw this crap lying near a dumpster, so they thought,

ALIENS

and decided to drop by and yell surprise and Merry Christmas (who the fuck is Merry).

Unfortunately they left before unwrapping so we will need an official engineer to open the *gifts*.

And we finally figured out, that the object labelled crossbow, is indeed a fancy sharpened rod thrower. And yes that it is also a crossbow.

Pretty good, but slow. Still it does cutting damage that is not lowered by Kevlar, but armor values still apply.

We also figure out what kitchen knifes are for.

What is next you ask, an wooden club? Yes.

I wish we get a spoon as a melee weapon too. May be for the Ghost ark.

We got the in the Club too :)

All of these are very cheap researches, so I just power through them for the points and because we get some of theme from interrogations and that would be a waste of an interrogation. I mean it is so fun when one abducted farmer talks about his obsession with the rectal probe, the second about his relationship with his favorite pitchfork, or the next one tells us about the heavy hand of his wife and we get her full combat analysis.
