Fire damage while walking

It is strange that units do not receive fire damage when they walk on it in the current turn. Can this be fixed?

Yes, it is possible to implement such a feature.
If such a feature is added please allow both versions of fire damage to be used.

Perhaps on a unit armor variable?

This would allow some units to be much more susceptible to fire effects adding more variety to both X-Com and alien unit types.

If you ever do I can see walls of fire becoming a standard defencive strategy versus aggressive melee aliens.

Fire can already do that today.
AI greatly dislikes pathing through fire.

Will the Units: isLeeroyJenkins: variable override a unit's aversion to pathing through fire and take the shortest route?

The UFOpaedia description mentions it "ignore dangerous tiles (grenades? pfff!)" so I'm guessing that fire counts as a dangerous tile.
