Help with TFTD
« on: September 29, 2019, 01:40:13 pm »
Hi Guys!

I have a save game and I've been playing it for quite long time. Unfortunately in Ufopaedia few things are missing.
Funny thing for me, missing things are like deep one (I have its autopsy). Currently in game, I only see Alien crafts.
Still couldn't see any Triscene and Xarquid.

Any suggestions? or is there any cheat to have full ufopedia?

Modified the Research section in the ruleset.. that is the only cheat you can do. Or restart the game, if you want the real deal experience.

Are you using OXCE or Openxcom with TFTD?

If you just want the UFOPEDIA stuff to fill up, capture and interrogate Alien Medics to fill in the gaps. That is you are not cheating. Aquatiod medics are a thing in UFO to capture alive.

If you are missing certain tech items like Mag Ion Armor, then that's another reply later on. Tell me what exactly you are missing. Like just UFOPEDIA topics or the some critical techs?

I checked research tree. Deep one terrorist is missing. I think that's why I can't start for Ion Armour.
And same reason that I don't have any Displacer technology.
Additionally still didn't see any Triscene and Xarquid.

Do you want to cheat? Otherwise replaying the game is the only other option. If you do, make sure your first terror mission in Jan is Aquatiod, make sure you capture their terror weapon both alive and dead. Second month terror mission has to be Gillman and deep one both alive and dead.

There is no satisfaction in playing the game in cheating.

If you really want to chest, then are you using openxcom to play the game?

Actually I don't want to cheat of course. But I think, after some time there is no chance to capture Deep One again.
If it's not, I will keep continue. Is there a chance that I can find Deep One in crash sites?

No. Aquatiod medics is your only chance but it would not give you those missing tech path.

Sadly, TFTD research hinges on you capturing a live Deep One, and they only show up in the early game, in Gillmen terror missions. If you don't have those anymore, you'll have to cheat/restart.
Xarquids and Triscene are also uncommon terror units, mostly only showing up in mixed missions, but they're not important for research.

luckily, getting the info from a medic WILL work in openxcom
