Unknown Individuals Disrupt Criminal Undertaking

Unknown individuals had been involved in a shootout in Nice in a beach resort with an organisation that has been identified as Osiron; the same one that was reportedly involved in a similar operation in Egypt just three months earlier. Police have reported that five such criminals were killed in the engagement and there are currently no confirmed survivors. The suspects' whereabouts also remain unknown. We will update you live as this story unfolds.

The Avatar looks like a completely normal human being based on what we had uncovered so far, and seems to have given us nothing new on her remains....until we cross-checked its DNA. In this particular case, the Avatar was identified as a 41 year old Black Lotus male member from Kagoshima, Japan. Somehow, the so-called "Goddess" managed to transform it into one of the two Avatars we encountered, but so far, we have no knowledge as to how this happened.

Subject: David Vincent Interrogation Report

After a bit of persuasion by our intelligence officer, he told us more about his research. As we already knew, a UFO landed in Los Angeles at some point in the early 1960s, which is when he started gathering evidence about their existence on Earth. The aliens did not take this very kindly and he had to leave his former life to continue his work under a pseudonym. However, as you already know, his pseudonym was eventually found and we were able to rescue him (at great cost). We managed to persuade him not to take any independent actions to divulge this information to the general public and as of today, I am requesting that the Council provide him with a new cover to he may continue his research. It could prove useful in our operations. Speaking of Dr. Vincent's research, we found something of interest that will be mentioned in a separate report.

I spoke to the US representative to the Council and they've agreed to have the CIA provide a new cover identity for Dr. Vincent to use, and as such, the supposed crimes have been pardoned by the CIA. The rest of the Council hopes we do not regret this decision in the future.

Subject: Alien Electronics Report

Dr. Vincent had provided our scientists with insights into the aliens' electronics and the discoveries are...surprising to say the very least. It would appear that instead of integrated microprocessors like our computers, alien computers instead use specially grown crystal matrices to create logic machines. While not inherently faster than our own microprocessors, they do allow for multi-threaded communications between nodes, achieving and even surpassing the level of the theoretical quantum computer. Now we have a rough understanding of the electronics work; enough to program them. Sadly, we cannot simply just make them from scratch - the technology is still lacking in this field, effectively forcing us to scavenge what we can from the battlefield. This is a whole new era of computing - a revolution that has jumpstarted our progress by several centuries. One can only wonder what the potential applications are once the technology is available.

One of the secret files we've managed to recover from the Davao City raid against Black Lotus involved the mention of a Kim Harwell, whom we believe they were planning to assassinate. Here is what we know about her so far.

Harwell has been a prominent journalist in the fringe media investigating paranormal activity reports as part of the World Paranormal News Journal. She has extensively followed leads across the globe on zombie sightings, possibly even aware of X-COM's existence. Recent reports indicated that other forces have taken an interest on her and have placed her under surveillance. With the recovery of these files, we believe that Black Lotus was planning an assassination attempt on her, which X-COM may have prevented by intervening in Davao City.

Subject: Dossier: Lady Lucy

After digging into some of the Top Secret Files recovered from Operation: Lotus Killer, we've managed to identify one particular name: Lady Lucy. Here is what is known about her so far.

She is a Hollywood B-Movie star whom has been in the spotlight for the last decade. It turns out that she was a hybrid, likely grown from an embryo like the one were recovered in the Beauty of the Seas, possibly using her position to sway and perhaps even control her audiences using alien techniques. She conveniently died of a "drug overdose" shortly after we stole the files, unaware of what exactly was in them. Due to the attitudes in Hollywood, we can't investigate further, especially since her body vanished. As of now, Interpol has been notified as to her whereabouts, but we should be extremely careful here. We are talking about a hybrid between a human and likely the Sectoids we faced twice before.

X-COM agents had responded to an Chinese government informant's report of a Black Lotus base outside Chengsha in Hunan Province. X-COM agents managed to attack and clear out the base, capturing an assassin in critical condition in the process. However, Agents Neumann and Bakaji were both killed by the same assassin, and as such, we will find replacements as soon as possible.

People's Armed Police Officers Raid Black Lotus Base in Hunan Province

PAP officers have raided a Black Lotus terrorist outpost outside of Chengsha in Hunan province earlier today as the national government continues its long fight against Black Lotus' terrorist activities. Police officers have managed to capture a suspect for questioning in critical condition, having lost two officers to that same suspect in the process. PAP Commander Yang Guoping has announced that the fight against Black Lotus and other terrorist groups across China will be further intensified as more and more suspects are apprehended by authorities across the country. Fenrir Wolves, as previously specified, are not much different from wolves apart from their unusually large size. Well-developed muscles ensure great strength and agility, in addition to serving as protection from projectiles, as we have seen in the field. Like many other creatures of furry nature, however, this thing is vulnerable to incendiary weapons and flamethrowers. We should be extremely careful with these things; they could be trouble.

Another batch of additional files that we managed to recover from the Black Lotus meeting we interfered in Davao City also happened to reveal some...rather interesting notes about a man by the name of Anthony Barker. Here is what is known about him so far.

He is suspected of tampering with satellite systems to omit UFO activity from government and military feeds. In many cases, UFO signatures were either unnoticed or easily lost. However, we've noticed upon closer examination that he seems to have been an alien enthusiast for years before any of this became "on radar" (no pun intended), and was eager to help them out on this basis alone. Hopefully, the fact that Interpol has been notified and he is now under arrest should make him regret his actions. If not...well, no longer our concern for the moment.

Based on that, we could safely assume that EXALT was beginning to expand outside the Americas and establish a presence in Africa. Thanks to our agents, they failed and as of now, an infiltrator has been taken into custody.

Police in Tripoli earlier today have just confirmed that a shootout had occurred in an industrial park between previously unidentified armed men and a small contingent of EXALT terrorists in what was believed to be an attempt by the Americas-based criminal organisation to expand its reach outside of North and South America. One of the suspects is believed to have been captured by these mysterious individuals, as security camera footage had demonstrated four EXALT suspects in the complex, whereas only three bodies were identified by the police. Subject: Nephilim Revelations Report

This is a disturbing report to say the very least. Based on the top secret files recovered from Dr. Vincent's old house where he was rescued from, we've managed to uncover the existence of a species known as the Nephilim. According to Dr. Vincent's files, it would appear that in ancient times, the aliens visited Earth. Like today's Sectoids combining human and Sectoid DNA to create hybrids, this species' origins had a similar story. However, the notable difference according to his files is that, unlike the hybrids we are aware of, this species' DNA tends to originate from a previously unknown species referred to as "Ethereals" in the files. These particular hybrids were intelligent, psionically gifted and on top of that, had unusually long lifespans. In any case, this species had seen the Ethereals suddenly leave for unknown reasons. Were they abandoned? Did they rebel? Either way, they went on to live with ancient humans and become their leaders; most notably those seen in ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Mesoamerica, China and Greece. In fact, it could be possible that some of their DNA could now be a possible source of what we believe to be human psionic potential. If this is true, then we've reached a new era of human history and possibly even a new chapter in human evolutionary history.
