Gilldogs, as we suspected, can operate both on land and underwater. They are dangerous predators combining mammalian intelligence with ichthyic tenacity. Their primary weakness is smoke, which tends to easily suffocate them. This is still a very dangerous species either way, and we should be careful with it in the field.

X-COM agents had been able to investigate a report about a Dagonist cell operating in New Delhi, and our agents had managed to eliminate all suspects in the cell. However, it should be noted that the local authorities have already moved in to investigate, and the agents were barely able to leave the area by the time the police had arrived. Thankfully, X-COM should still remain a secret, but this is still going to get ever more media attention.

Shootout in New Delhi Industrial Park; One Suspect Likely Previously Seen in Norway

A shootout had just been reported earlier today in New Delhi, as Dagonist forces and two unidentified individuals had reportedly murdered four Dagonist terrorists in an industrial complex. The police have reportedly identified one of the suspects as being one of the gunmen who had reportedly eliminated the Red Dawn terrorist operation in Trondheim just nearly two weeks ago. However, the exact identity of this person is still not known, and whereabouts as to his identity or his connections still remain elusive. We will update you live as this story unfolds.

After X-COM agents had received reports a sighting of unknown extraterrestrial lifeforms, X-COM intervened in the area and managed to eliminate two alien lifeforms of previously unknown origin. We are considering beginning an autopsy of the remains of these lifeforms so that we can understand more about these specific aliens.

My intelligence officer has gathered a list of prominent Red Dawn supporters as of earlier today, and thanks to this list, I am confident that we will have a better understanding of the structure of Red Dawn as an organisation in hopes of crippling it for good. Here is to hoping for the best, I suppose.

Commander,

The Council has decided to delegate the safehouse operations to Council salvage teams for the purposes of allowing your organisation to focus on taking down Red Dawn. Your goal at this point is to locate and eliminate these traitors within the Russian government, which President Yeltsin has already told me to ask your organisation to take them down at all costs.

Good luck, Commander. We hope that your future endeavours are as successful as the current ones.

Sincerely,
Frank Kirby

Rogue Italian Army Soldier Apprehended by Unknown Agents

Unknown agents had reportedly managed to prevent another terrorist attack in Milan, after gunshots were reported by Italian citizens in an industrial park. The local authorities had begun investigations into the nature of the attack, while the agents at the scene refused to comment or have their pictures taken. As a result, conspiracy theorists across the world have begun rambling about a "clandestine organisation" of some kind. Though police have denied that such an organisation existed, the unknown agents at the scene have made many skeptical of the validity of these official reports. We will update you live as this story unfolds.

X-COM agents managed to respond to a report from the Kazakh government about the whereabouts of a Red Dawn outpost near the border with Russia, and as such, we were able to intervene and eliminate the Red Dawn outpost. However, Agents Kim, Ahonen and Karahina were all killed during the operation and Agent Savchenko has sustained significant injuries to the point it would be a month before she is back in action. As of now, I am finding replacements for our lost agents at this time.

Subject: Sentient Algorithms Research Report

As previously mentioned in an earlier report, the Kiryu-Kai organisation had managed to make a series of breakthroughs in neural networking and evolving algorithms; the same kind that led to CHAD's creation. This has allowed them to create polymorphic software based on self-rearranging nanoparticles, forming a brain-like structure. It is capable of learning and self-programming, and as a result, this could be useful in robots (such as our rogue system CHAD) and intelligent weapon systems.

As a result, I recommend we begin production of these robotic units if and when possible, for we have seen the beginning of a new era.

Subject: Black Lotus Avatar Interrogation Report

As it would appear, the Black Lotus "Avatar" is a human being...well at least it used to be one. It is practically a voice of the Goddess, which we believe to be an alien mind of some kind and this host has been the result of its doing. A transformation from a normal human being into a floating woman, with its word being absolute among the cult's members.

In fact, this thing likely gave us some insights into the nature of Black Lotus' HQ, which we still need to locate. It looks like this may be the beginning of the end of Black Lotus. However, there is something more disturbing that that thing just told our teams.

Subject: Alien Infiltration Investigation Report

As of the time of this report, it would appear that we've managed to gain some insights into the activites of the aliens who use these organisations as proxies. They are capable of somehow infiltrating Earth's governments, offering their superior technological knowledge in exchange for cutting our funding and allowing them to operate unopposed. This is characterised by intense UFO activity, which X-COM has yet to witness, but could likely do so in the invasion due by 1999. This is something that cannot be tolerated and the Avatar's knowledge of this only confirms that alien forces are, indeed, using these groups as proxies.

Black Lotus Temple Destroyed; Seven Suspects Apprehended

A joint PLA-PAVN operation near the Sino-Vietnamese border had just recently announced that a Black Lotus temple was destroyed by the joint force, though some reports suggest that some unknown lifeform had been located and killed in the area. Two PLA soldiers were injured during the fight, according to Chinese state-run media, while seven occupants had surrendered to the joint force and had been apprehended. With the international community already focused on fighting Black Lotus, Red Dawn, the Church of Dagon and EXALT, this news comes in at an opportune time as the Black Lotus organisation seems to be nearing the brink of defeat, with rumours that the search for Black Lotus' headquarters is beginning to see results.

This is the dossier of the individual known as Elias Seppä, whom we believe to have some connections to EXALT. Here is what is known so far on the individual:

He was a former Finnish and nutritionist expert. He moved to the States to work with a vitamin supplements company confirmed by our suspect to have ties with EXALT. When police attempted to search his home, he single-handedly killed twelve agents with a knife and escaped with some kind of briefcase. He is extremely fast, strong and dangerous. Interpol has already been notified, though I would recommend police agencies to take extreme caution to apprehend him. Should that prove to be unviable, he is to be eliminated.

Subject: Dossier: Monica Grummann

Dr. Monica Grummann was just mentioned by one of our recently interrogated suspects. After further questioning here is what we know from the suspect:

Dr. Grummann was a former East German scientist whose research on human metabolism had contributed to the success of East German athletes. Of course, she disappeared from the public eye once Red Dawn decided to offer her the opportunity to work on something more groundbreaking: their bioenhancement program. At this moment, we suspect that she is an extremely important member of the Red Dawn research staff, likely even being the head of said bioenhancement programs we learned about when we first learned of their existence. If any law enforcement agency can bring her in, then we may as well have crippled Red Dawn's bioenhancement program.

Japanese Special Assault Teams Raid Osaka Outpost; Two Officers Killed

Japanese authorities have just announced that a raid against a Black Lotus outpost just outside Osaka had resulted in the deaths of two Special Assault Team officers earlier today, as the Black Lotus organisation begins to become increasingly more desperate after the destruction of the temple in Vietnam just three days ago. Officials say that all the suspects were killed in the engagement, with significant resistance being faced by the Special Assault Teams. As reports of "monster" and "alien" activity continue to skyrocket, one can only wonder if the unusual amount of reports involving these supposed creatures may not seem as far-fetched as we once believed.

Thanks to some digging by my intelligence officer, X-COM has managed to uncover some channels to locate the ruling elite behind EXALT. However, it should be noted that their compounds will be heavily defended and after X-COM had recently been able to crack down significantly on their operations, chances are it only gets even tougher.
