The latest official released version is 7.12

I did not release 7.12.5, use at own risk.
There is no apk build for android.
Is it possible to release 7.12.5 for android? I can't launch the latest Pirates N8 update since that version is required

No, the build farm is down.

Also, even if it was working, I would still not release it... OXCE 7.12.5 for all other platforms is also not released (I didn't do any testing, documentation, etc. yet)

Downgrade piratez (or change its minimum required oxce version, or build the version yourself).

Can you add a .sh file extension to OpenXcomEx file? I wanna launch it through Steam, but it can't see it without .sh.

there is no possibility for `.sh` file, as this is BASH script not binary, OXCE can only be binary.

During installation of openxcom_extended_v7.12.0-win64.exe it does not download automatically both universal patches for xcom1 and xcom2, as it did in last year's releases.

The same problem today with openxcom_git_master_2024_02_28_0704.exe

Also does not work url with bleeding edge OXCE nightly preview builds - https://lxnt.wtf/oxem/#/Extended

Question is: is it correct way of installation - simply unpack newest Extended-7.12-1bde457c8-2024-02-24-win64.7z over existent older version OXCE 7.9.0, which already have both xcom1/xcom2 files and both patches?

I remembered old answer from Solarius Scorch: Always delete the old .exe first, as well as folders "common" and "standard".

I don't understand what multiUfoRetaliation and multiUfoRetaliationExtra do, could someone explain?

Both OXC and OXCE already contain the universal patches, there is no need to download them anymore.

Soldiers do not gain experience when killing by "improvisation" i.e. damage from landscape objects. There were cases when a soldier in battle did one single useful action - shooting at barrels that killed many opponents, but after the battle this soldier did not receive any experience, although all killed opponents were counted as killed by the Improvisation weapon. Is this intended, or is this a bug?

@Ethereal I do not look on this part of code but I would guess that only direct damage give exp, commendations are separate mechanic that have different way to track kills, and this is why behind difference.

On other hand, I push new script hooks for items buy and sell prices, now you can arbitrary change price of any item (global date can affect price too!)
If someone will be determined it could add daily fluctuation of prices that will change at "random" each day (but two cravats, you need roll your own "random" logic as game random is not available in this hook and yours sells do not affect  price as its not exposed to script yet).

Yankes, where can i DL your OXCE 7.12.7 version?  there is a lot of links from the OP, and not a all of them result in a page to dl from. I know you worked on the fix i needed with the  "need-more-manufacture-space" warning ∞ looping.

I migrated from Debian 11 to 12 via a fresh install.
Now when I start OpenXcomEx I got a black tiny window with the title "OpenXcom Extended 7.1.2 (v2024-02-24).

I would say everything is installed and configured as in the previouse system. I just copied the ~/.config/openxcom from the old to the new system. I installed the libsdl components.

Never saw such a window. Starting this in terminal doesn't give much usable output. The window closes itself after pressing any keyboard key. The output is just

$ ./OpenXcomEx
INFO: WARNING: this app used SDL_KillThread(), an unforgivable curse.
This program should be fixed. No thread was actually harmed.

For testing purpose I removed the ~/.config/openxcom folder. The behavior does not changed. So I assume the config itself is not the reason.
