[MVII/TUTORIAL]How to de-link map nodes in MVII
« on: August 07, 2018, 10:38:12 pm »
PLEASE READ:
I'm going to be showing you guys a MVII Tutorial topic (Not a video) on the forums how to de-link map nodes.
Simple.
I'm gonna posting screenshots (via snipping tool) of a 10X10 map where how de-linking map nodes work (it's not a vanilla map).
But it's kinda easy (not hard!). :)
IMAGE 1

This demonstrates where it shows you how to map nodes work.
(grey areas mean the node's not selected, meaning unable to use the tile or link data)
IMAGE 2

The blue area is where you clicked on the node (selected node 0) meaning the link color is now blue instead of red. :)
Pretty easy to think of.
IMAGE 3

This is the link data part, showing you how node 0 is connected to node 1.
I haven't added any Spawn Data for it, but this is the map i've created demonstrates how de-linking nodes work.
IMAGE 4

First set Link1 Node Number "1 or any node number" (along with exitNorth, exitSouth, exitEast and exitWest links) to not used so that i has to be de-linked no matter what takes to be easy to do it.
IMAGE 5:

And there you go, node 0 and node 1 are now de-linked. Not that hard to deal with. :D

But if you're or anybody who makes large or huge maps have hard times (just i do) with map nodes, you got the nice and easy MVII tutorial topic i've made for you guys to enjoy.
Tutorials are very very important to use. Be extra careful on nodes. -.-

If you like, i have an example image of one of the vanilla maps i've copied that have their nodes been de-linked.

EXAMPLE IMAGE:

Large Scout Map Nodes.
This demonstrates the nodes (Lime green for spawn infos and dark green for no spawn infos) are de-linked.
Anyway, i'm maybe gonna be doing my map node weakspots stuff maybe at 6:00 PM today or tomorrow unless i'm feeling good or not.

Enjoy this tutorial for now on, thank you for reading along with looking at the images of how to de-link nodes.
I hope you guys have a very good day.

Cheers and regards

also, to clear all of a selected node's links in one go:

RouteView|Edit|Clear Link data

it should then ask for confirmation.

enjoyed the tutorial regardless :)

Thanks, kevL!
I'll give RouteView's Clear Link data stuff a try.

Have a nice day here on the forums then! ;)

you could also check out the RouteView page under Help. It's not as good as a tutorial, but there might be some goodies hiding there.

like drag&drop nodes
