I feel like male touch path got a little forgotten, while their niche of using a lot of weaker troops has been taken by peasant revolution. What if males focused on 2x2 units to again be unique?
Early game big 2x2 wooden pyroman decently "fast" firing ballistas, mangonels and such. Then actual armored cars, tanks and mechs. A playstyle focused on supporting those units, even to the point of requiring designated ammo and stamina refreshing items carriers. Instead of them being a neat little addition sometimes still not worth taking over 4 regular units.
Giving this path ability to use those units in enemy bases could be necessary, I think.
Seems like something unique enough.
