Would anyone know if having all of the 'diverging paths' [...] in my savefile would break it?

I'm on my first playthrough, ever, and actively tried to not get a comprehensive view of how things work. So I'm not an expert, not at all. Some insights were unavoidable, though.

My expectation is that future edits will become necessary as you go along, but not all that many. If I'm wrong and you have opened an unmanageable can of worms, you're going to find out very quickly.

ETA, my own question of the day: should I keep my Codex vessel (Fortuna)?

I've just had my first Space Freighter and was dismayed that it requires an interplanetary craft; I can't well keep both the Fortuna and the Drakkar at hand, and swapping vessels between outposts as needed is such a PITA. It seems as if the Fortuna has become mostly obsolete by now... or is there something I missed?

Yeah, Fortuna is awesome. Shielded, fast, goes underwater and into space. I regret losing mine to a stray bomb.

Also holds 13 people while many missions demand no more than 12 and isn't interplanetary. I'm going to need a Drakkar no matter what. Fortuna was great when I first got it, but by now I have plenty of other options. It is a one-of-it's-kind item though, so I'm reluctant to sell it off. Will something come up where I'm going to wish I had kept my Menace-Class?

Menace crafts aren't one-of-a-kind, there's a way to get many of them later in the game (when they are already obsolete...)

I feel a bit silly.
On a previous outpost defense, my Flak Cannon couldn't be selected at all or controlled.
Now, with Laser Turrets, I'm seeing the same issue.
My bunker's 14mm turret however can be selected and works the way I expect.

Are the tower turret's controlled differently?
I thought they were AI controlled but I didn't see them do anything but soak shots.

Government troops have attacked my bases ten or twelve times now.  I believe the troops are usually from the Iron Tribe (because they sometimes include Redcoats) or Central Province (because they sometimes include CPFA Volunteers), but sometimes they include only those troops in black and Gov't Enforcers, which seem to be generic to all governments.  I defeat whatever they send, but since they're government troops killing them gives me big Infamy penalties.

What could have provoked this?  I still get plenty of protection from those two governments, and my Infamy always remains good despite the penalties.

Is there a way I can get the attacks to stop?

My flak cannon has fired on its own before, but it doesn't always.  So it must be AI, but maybe the vision range is very short or something.

That's the standart "Govt Enmity" mission. There are multiple ways of provoking them - reaching boss rank, associating with Aurora or catgirls, etc. Most of these attaks stop if you research *Family Ties*.

Their dropships have only 750 hp, so having a couple SAM sites will generally stop them before they land (no score penalty this way).

Hmmm. When I first setup my flak gun, it was I think 1 or 2 buildings away from my lift.
If it is AI controlled, then I'm not sure what it's sight range is.
I'm also guessing that these kinds of turrets don't get reaction fire as well?

Just wondering, maybe it is late for that question but i have always been slow in learning thingh...anyway as for dogfight, usin laser craft weapons seems have no effect on heavy shielded craft, there is an alternative aside missiles? I'd have to use piercing alike stuf like craft harpoons, naval guns, gauss cannons, ramjet cannons and so on? Also divebomb are likely to have some effect?

edit: emh...

I had this run which i resumed after a while, (in the meantime the game updated from oxce 8.0 to 8.1).
And now that I am getting further into the mod again I seem to be blocked.
I am not able to research glamour for some reason despite having it as an item, even if the services required for the research should be fulfilled.
Keep in mind it requires *culture* , and I have already researched *back to school*, (which has the same requirements) and yet I cannot research glamour.
It would be annoying to start over again in case the update fucked me over but I-d like to know if I can salvage this run before I restart.
One way to unlock glamour would be to obtain it from a golden boy, but they are fairly rare and they could grant me like 200 other outcomes upon interrogation, so it-d be hard to get there.

The dreaded "I accidentally hid the research topic" strikes again.

Perhaps it was a mistake to add it after all.
I have never intentionally used it, nor encountered a user who had intentionally used it, but I keep running into issues with accidental cases...

But it's such a cool and must have feature.
Everybody will be using it all the time.
How could we even play a mod with more than 10 research topics before.
Oh my.
Let's bother Meridian some more to implement plenty more such killer QoL features.
