This is real aliens spaceship that has been discovered in 80's somewhere in Asia (may be in Turkmenistan or... I don't know, it is top secret).

Totally...

The 1972 Aralask-7 smallpox incident wasn't smallpox. It was like small pox but Alien in origin.

Just read the reports and after action discussions.Non filovirus hemorrhagic fever completely unresponsive to multiple classes of antibiotics or even vaccinations relying on antibodies of several strains given to the patient population up to seven times.

Post exposure blood work reveals antibodies for previous vaccinations and antibodies that are unidentified even today.

Only quarantine and terminal sterilization minimized the death toll at 3 ... all from a strange fever attributed to engineered smallpox. Smallpox doesn't make people bleed from their eyes or raise cancer rates.

Antibiotics don't work on viruses, only bacteria, so it's no wonder those failed. Smallpox vaccinations on the days right after exposure to the disease can prevent it or minimize the symptoms but this assumes exposure is detected on time. Since the incubation period for smallpox is around 12 days and the release of smallpox was accidental, by the time it was detected too much would have passed for any vaccine to be effective.

Hemorrhagic smallpox (one of the forms through which the disease manifests) causes bleeding inside the eyes and turns them red, along with general bleeding in the body's mucous membranes. A raise in cancer rates can be caused by a lot of factors, natural and artificial

Yes, all of this I know. I was playing around. I guess I missed the point of this thread. :-\ like dihydrogenmonoxide spoopyness.

The actual viral sample came from an Indian man some time in winter 62-63. the rise in cancer rates was related to over the horizon radar.

The so-called "Dulce Facility" in New Mexico and the reported human/alien stand-off could be a strange case of the telephone game mangling the truth as to a failed US Army assault on an installation built and operated by aliens given government land as part of a pact.

Or that the US Navy's Sidewinder missile project had a planning stages only offshoot known as the Diamondback: A nuclear warhead tipped air-to-air missile. The XCOM part? Why do you need that strong of a homing missile to fight another terrestrial plane, all the way back in the mid 50's?

Or the possibility that the Star-wars Defense System wasn't designed to aim toward earth but away from it.

Or that while governments and citizens may stay true to earth and not buy into pacts, that corporations and CEOs could be different. Some ancient power-players having had more hearts than a medical examiner weighs in a week, if you buy into the rumors...

And what about recent technology... There's that death-bed confession video from that Boyd Bushman. Whether a hoax or real, it's a definite reason to look twice at some of the stuff in your house.

Or, that several Russian space modules and satellites had guns. Like decently big ones, not something a cosmonaut holds.

The logic behind nuclear tipped air-to-air missiles was to use them to destroy large formations of Soviet bombers attacking the US. There was actually 1 nuclear missile that was deployed in interceptors, the AIM-26 Falcon and even a nuclear unguided air-to-air rocket, the AIR-2 Genie

If this sounds a bit extreme, keep in mind that in the 1950/60s US military doctrine considered that a Soviet conventional invasion of Western Europe could only be defeated by tactical nukes, and basically that nukes were seen as the solution for everything, from atomic mines, anti-submarine torpedoes and even infantry weapons like the David Crockett recoiless gun

Hmm... that does make sense. At least by Cold War US standards. Which considering the US once decided to "test" the USSR's response to airspace intrusion in a way that had them mostly convinced it was a real-deal attack, and at one point wanted to test a nuke on the moon, well...

It kind of makes you glad that XCOM is a multi-national effort, especially even speaking as a US resident.

And the Davy Crockett would be quite handy in a lighter fusion ball charge as a last-ditch terror-site leveler. Too bad the squaddie would likely miss horribly.

"He missed, and now we miss him."

Yeah, air-to-air nuclear missiles are a bit extreme if you consider the overall effects of the blast, although they were supposed to blown up the bombers over the North Pole where no one lives. On the other hand, since they would explode in the atmosphere there would be no nuclear fallout involved, since the fallout is created when the nukes go off close to ground and the explosion raises ground particles and irradiates them.

There's a lot of weirdo UFO stuff that happened in Brazil:
- Operation Saucer/Prato. This is some X-Files shit.

- The Official Night of the UFOs in the eighties. Probably the least deniable of all, because UFOs were detected by multiple radar, and even apparently did some communication through lights.

- Varginha incident in early 90.

Maybe its just me, but is a rocket armed with an atomic warhead and a range of just 10km the definition of a BAD IDEA?  ;D
I know the actual range can be quite a bit higher when the 2 planes are flying towards each other, but still...
