Music Preferences
« on: July 19, 2016, 03:46:12 am »
I'm wondering what music people prefer to pirate to.

I've decided that unfortunately Alestorm didn't quite fit and Finntroll somehow does, and the standard drone music of X-Com is slightly inappropriate but still fits.

I grabbed a bunch of music from Apoc and hacked up a quick mod of it, seems to work pretty well.

Remastered X-Com music. Piratez is zany at times, but the universe is still dark, creepy and crapsack filled with horrible things.

I guess I should also ask how to set music in the game, I've seen people do it, just have no idea how. I've just been playing music and muting the game :)

This is the key to setting up your own music.  The thing that made the most difference for me was making sure my sound levels were balanced accross all the tracks I used.  I often put 2 or 3 songs together in Geoscape or Battlescape mixes to avoid endless repetition.  I used Audacity for working with my sound files, and encoding them to similar volume levels, and 44.1 KHz sample rate.

I'll add a custom sundtrack by Gifty to the next release, it sounds just fine for this game while being very retro.

Really a masterpiece! He made also one for TFTD (founded anywhere on the forum) but does not work with enemy unknown, sadly :(

I'll have to check that out sometime.

Right now I'm rocking the Halloween theme song during a night mansion mission as my Gals stalk about the premises, butchering everyone with ghost knives (we totally need a Scream ghost/Myers outfit).
