The most satisfying thing you can do in this mod
« on: April 18, 2016, 09:05:01 pm »
Early, buy a HMG. Equip it with PS ammo if possible.
Upon starting a mission, send the parrot through the drophole.
Order the HMP guy to get on the Bonnie's top.

1. Survive until the next turn.
2. Mow down whoever you can spot with your Rambo Gal.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as long as possible
4. Profit ?

Yeah, ok. What is an HMP?  Heavy Machine Pistol?  Or did you mean HMG?

I can improve on your plan. Have a gal with a flag and high bravery nearby, then you can move and shoot with the HMG on the same turn.

The way the HMG works, i can still turn my head around to spot new enemies and shoot. I dont want to move. I want to sit on the bonnie, kneel done and gun all around the ship :P
However, gameplay mechanics aside, having a gal with a flag next to me makes for a even more impressive Picture, ill give you that.

There is so many, I'd say anything that involves the custom snipin gun or the flamethrower. Or the bardiche. Or the panzerfaust. Or the laser cannon. Or the...

The best so far, shooting down a terror ship with one predator and clearing it with no losses, then ending the month with a score over 5k.

With the ratings finally done properly, you need 10k end-month points to be a Public Enemy now :)

Get some flying armors (the basic grav ones are pretty easy to get) and lift your HMG sky high. The even trees won't stand in the way of your maniacally gunning down everything. 2 parrots + a few of these and you're good for the outside part of the map (sadly can't gun down people inside UFOs :()

really? :P I tried to blow the door open. Didn't want to have an ambush spot.
Well. Be careful with Nuclear bombs.

It was a special mission.
Yes, you can really destroy walls and doors. That was an exception. If someone wonders.

Nice screen shot. You need to work on managing your blast directions though. Its very possible for a nuke or other large explosive to not direct much blast back at the user.

Blasts propagate in a square manner because we play on a square grid. However this means that putting any length of wall or solid terrain between you and the blast point channels the blast out to the side.

Xxxxxxxx
Lxxxxxxx
0000xxx
000F0xx

The big x is the point of impact and F is the shooter. Small x indicate blast damage. The L represent a inward 90 corner. The presence of the corner exaggerates the square blast propagation allowing the shooter to have direct line of fire and remain unharmed. Any wall or solid cube that is perpendicular to the line of fire and closer to the blast will exhibit this quirk.  Even ufo angled walls do this.

Yep. Blasts do get shaped (or nullified) by strong enough walls.

It's one of the many reasons I keep going on about the wonders of assault cannons. Like bows, but so much more useful.

One of the most satisfying things? Bouncing balls off walls, inside a ufo with no LoS, and killing a couple of enemies while remaining unscathed.
