Actually awful civilian image for inventory screen.

HAHA  i said i needed a pixel artist  ;) It you think that was awful you should see the on i tried to draw from scratch.
 That was actually a quick test to see IF PCKVIEW could transfer one out into a BMP ( as some of them throw errors) and back in again, if they did not work i was going to try BBtoolkit. I was going to try to add detail ontop that image and use it as a guide for the shape and colour of a civilian male, that image is freshly  using HQX .

Do you have all the TTS ones? I never had TTS so i dont know what they had? I was just going to do useufopedia images but if the work is already done.

Here is my floater , i hope you liked it more than my civilian  :P   i think hes to big, i will change it later tonight

There was only 4 types of non-xcom inventory images in TTS - sectoid, floater, snakeman and muton. Though 7 more reserved (they are blank).

They look like they have a higher detail level than my ones, did they use the same format?

They are using 24bit BMP, and they didn't use any palettes.

SHould i stil lmake these as placeholders until version 2.0 when this will be handled? I assume they will want tftd working before they go into more detail?

 I am not worried about beating the gun with these, the alien one take about 15min each to do so there not to bad. I was just going to have them there IF they where needed.

Male Civilian version 0.5 attached. Still a lot to do 8)

Maybe this should be moved to the experiment/modding section also.

Really , i used the outline of the original girl sprite over my previous battlescape sprite to get the basic shape and layout, the only really change to the shape i am going totriy to make him fat ( thats why he has manboobs)

I did the chryssalid so i thought i better have a go at the Zombie as well , problem was there was no good images of the zombie that i could find ( please if you have one let me know ) so i had a go myself , the result is not very good :(  On the plus side , a Zombie with a Gun i must remember to update that battle sprite also :P

Kinda , i took the battlescape image , scaled it , then spent 2 hours shaping and  stuffing around with it to get it to that level, i am glad you like it.  I am not in love with it yet but honestly its the best thing i have ever done without Cutting and Pasting :) Its funny to think the first time i ever used any paint product ( mspaint OR gimp) was with my Red gang ( on a side note that red gang may be getting a cybernetic upgrade in the coming months.).

I agree, the zombie looks really cool. :) The civilian needs some work though, something about his face really creeps me out. :o

Btw, you might wanna use some bright color as background when editing these, makes it easier to spot details that blend into black (eg. your ethereal has a near-black line on the right of the sprite).
