HELP: can't run OpenXCom on Windows XP SP2
« on: December 04, 2014, 12:23:40 pm »
I am on Windows XP SP2
I don't think I have .NET Framework installed and I never needed to.

I installed OpenXCom 1.0. Tried running it, and I get the usual "can't run" message, and asks me to reinstall.

This usually happens when the exe has been built with some later Windows platform SDK or something. Just wondering whether I do need .NET framework?

Windows XP SP3 or later required. For older versions, try the nightly or compiling it yourself.

says it right on the download page.
