No Music in OpenXcom
« on: November 24, 2014, 12:25:27 am »
I'm having trouble getting MIDI music to run on my game. Is there any way to fix that, either in a patch or mod?

i recommend the adlib emulator personally, but you can also copy in a bunch of midis, or ogg files, or whatever music format you want, there's just a few naming conventions. try fenyo's music site if you need any more info.

I prefer the original MIDI music that was played in X-COM UFO Defense Gold. Attached the files.

KiethSomataw99, you didn't get it.
MIDI is not the format, making the sound of what you expected. It hugely depends on HW implementation. And it doesn't have volume control (it affects system volume when you're trying to change volume of music in OpenXcom).
In the URL above are different versions of MIDI music "rendered" into OGG, with different soundfonts, and sounding really differently. You can choose any on your own taste.

There was no point to "attach" files which are already in the vanilla package.
