nobody is making fun of the situation. we were making fun of politicians and xcom logic. surely those are fair game.

Yes, this is a sensitive matter and the conversation was extrapolated form its context....it was somewhat clear but you HOW DAMN EASY is to misinterpret

Jokes are indeed man's last refuge in a grim situation like this, but pro-war jokes are really bad taste; and if you innocently suggest that Russia is the sole agressor here, and the NATO wasn't involved from the very start (2004 at least), you can be easily interpreted as being pro-war. The situation is very complex with at least 3 sides with legitimate greviances, and a dozen of sides with vested interests in the conflict. Don't believe in everything the media say, as they say exactly what they're expected to say, both Ost und West.
